Retaliatory negative feedback

Made a sale on December 3. To date no payment in spite of invoice more or less straight away, followed by a friendly reminder on day 6 or 7, followed by "dispute resolution" after 2 weeks, where I had 2 responses. The first one said that payment had been made with mb. When I told them I had not received it they said they would make payment. This has not happened. Today I left negative fb and within the hour got 0% back - it says (in French): "this seller should consider e-wallet for international customers". I got e-wallet and have received over 30 international payments in Nov and Dec through it.

Can I have this fb removed by Delcampe? I cannot start another dispute resolution for this item, as there is already one for non payment?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thank you for your input cajun. I've used the "help & contact" section of the site and requested for the fb to be removed, but not yet heard back from them. All communications with my buyer have been through delcampe (i.e. no direct emails), so they should be able to see what has been said/done on my part.

How can I contact Sebastien directly?

I am afraid I disagree with you there. I will always leave negative feedback for non payers. It warns other sellers of potentially dubious buyers - just like neg fb for sellers alerts the buyers to unreliable sellers.

If Delcampe does not remove the fb I've received, I will reply to it in a very calm manner and frankly I don't see it should effect my sales. It's clear to see to any buyer what has happened.

    upthebaggies,
It is good to see that a buyer agrees with my point of view. I've left follow up to the feedback I received.
Had a message back from Melanie, who says they won't remove it, because my non paying "buyer" has responded to the dispute resolution I started - had he not responded it would have been removed.

Ironically, I have nearly 4000 fb "over there" and the only neg I've ever received there, was in exactly the same situation; however, I will not stop leaving negative feedback for non payers and I will also put them on my "banned list" to avoid the potential of it happening again.

    Postman,
I had my issue resolved satisfactory and the fb was removed.
If I remember well, I was told at the time, that fb would be removed if the other party has not participated in the dispute process, so you should get them removed.

    scview,
I will always give neg/neutral to non payers. In total I tend to wait a month until it comes to that though. Invoice, reminders to start - dispute after 2 weeks approx and then I give it another 2 weeks or so for the buyer to pay before claiming any fees back and leaving negative fb.

However, receiving a neg fb back, that contains a blatant lie as happened in my case or receiving negs/neutrals when no communications has been made at all during that period of time is a bit harsh.

I think it's important to leave appropriate fb for others to see, because bad buyers imho are just as much of a nuisance as bad sellers.

Just a few observations from an old hack:

    1) Always give the feedback the transaction deserves - nothing more and nothing less. To incite a 'flame war' or give a false impression is a disservice to other sellers or buyers. Feedback isn't a p****** contest, so don't play tit for tat (or, as my friend said, "turn the other cheek, then lay them out with a haymaker from the blind side")

    2) Don't get uptight if you receive negative feedback without good cause - it's going to happen sooner or later anyway. Unless you are really bad at your job it will be a rare occurrence and anyone taking the time to check will see that. I was once given a neutral feedback by a bidder who complained about slow delivery, after I'd posted his lots the morning after receiving payment!

    3) Be nice to people who are really bugging you - it confuses the hell out of them

    4) Most important of all: Never argue with a fool - people might not notice the difference

I know these things are easy to say with a feedback over 2000 (and 5000 'over there') but trust me - we've all been at that embryonic stage of just a few feedbacks when one neutral can have a significant effect, and as you gain more experience you'll realise that a satisfied customer is worth all the feedback in the world

    Good luck!

Although I absolutely agree with xtf's comments.
If he sent you cash in US$ and that is not a payment method you state you accept, you should not have "rushed along" and given positive fb. You should have waited at least until you had received your money via an acceptable method.
Having said that, leaving fb is not a slamming match and the tit for tat shouldn't come into it.

Your feedback is very low and a neg would be unfortunate this early on - whatever you do, if you receive one, don't "get blinded with anger" and add a very nasty reply. Walk away from it for a few hours, compose yourself and leave a calm, polite reply, if you do wish to put anything. (I generally reply to any fb that is less then 100% - check my replies if you wish).

He cannot close your account - only Delcampe can do that. Therefore remain composed and polite; if Delcampe is in any doubt, they will want to look at all communications that have passed between you.

As far as blacklisting you is concerned. Unless you want to trade with him again, why worry about it. Only he and you will know that he's blacklisted you. It is not made public who has blacklisted who.

I've only seen your side of the story and it looks as if he's dug his heels in - you may well get a Paypal chargeback (unless he's already exceeded his quota for the year). As you have not send the item by trackable (registered/signed for) means, you will end up losing that dispute, if it happens.

I have never made it public on the forum that I've blacklisted you - you chose to do that yourself. If you want a reply to the message that you sent me as to why i did it, let me know and I will be happy to oblige, but I will reply on the forum publicly, not as a private message. BTW, you only discovered that I'd blacklisted you about 6 weeks after I'd done so - just shows how much attention you pay to your Delcampe account and although you can't see it, it also states the reason why I've blacklisted you - if delcampe were to investigate your account they will be able to see it and it wouldn't count against you as far as any problem transactions is concerned. It could count against you as far as your forum posts are concerned though.

I doubt very much that Delcampe will look at your "blacklist", rather then at any communication(s) between partners in a transaction. That is why I've advised OP to remain calm and polite.

An item "lost in the post" is an unfortunate occurance, but unfortunately it happens occasionally. In my 5 years of online selling and somewhere close to 9000 transactions I've had about 5 or 6 of them. Luckily for me it has not happened to me in my very early days on a new site

I've been blacklisted by 2 accounts (one and the same person). On each occasion I got a notification to tell me that I had been blacklisted. The buyer in question was a **** (fill in whatever you like) and I had blacklisted them before they blacklisted me.
If you wish to call some of your contributions to the forum "humour", that is your right. I choose to view them somewhat different, including a real hostility towards me and some other members in some cases. Of course, there are also the useful contributions you pride yourself on.
IMHO though, all posts should be pleasant and/or helpful and/or useful to other forum members - non should be negative and/or degrading and/or argumentative.

It seems you are shying away from a public answer to your message asking me why I've blacklisted you.

    Pts,
I absolutely agree with both of your posts.
Unfortunately PP is very buyer biased, like it's owner company.
Several years ago, I sent something to Brazil using "International Signed for".
The item didn't get there and even though I could provide a tracking number and it was clear that the item was sent to the correct address, they reimbursed the seller out of my funds, because there was no "seller protection" for Brazil. So even when you do use a trackable means, you can still end up out of pocket. I claimed against the PO and got most of my money back.

We all get the odd troublesome buyer every now and again. As a rule I will always leave fb the day I post the item(s), which is same or next working day after I have received payment. The exception to that is if the transaction has been troublesome in any way up to that point, i.e. a very long wait to be paid, payment in cash in a foreign country, complaints about "excessive p&p", etc. If that is the case I will wait until my buyer leaves me feedback.
