    The system is an absolute shambles.
    A change like this needs to have been tested for longer than just a few weeks.
    The fact that we are encountering problems that are obvious is indicative of poor quality control.

    I have sent out one invoice this morning. I was unable to review it before it vanished into the ether. Therefore no postal (or other charges or instructions)charges could be added. I couldn't print out a packing list (which is what I usually do) until the invoice was sent ... and then I discovered this feature on another tab. This showed that the invoice sent was incorrect and that previous purchases that had been paid for had been included! I am sure the customer will think I'm an idiot.

    On top of that I cannot see any way to send a revised invoice.

    I also can't see items as they close as the system only allows you to view items 'within buyer'.

    These are obvious points ... what were your testers doing?

    I am now closing down for a few hours ... it is just too stressful.

    I also have 2 unknown sales for which there is no sales e-mail - did the people buy? i have no idea

    The old system was integrated, with this it takes more keystrokes, more time, and information is in about 5 different places.

    I also have 'awaiting payment' for at least 2 sales which are already paid and sent, just because, I suspect, the buyer didn't pay through the Delcampe wallet, and there appears to be no way of getting rid of them!

    Like others, I am seriously considering suspending all my sales until we get the old system back.

    The email advising me that my customer wants an invoice is multilingual. It tells me, in French, that an invoice is needed, then, in English, how to send an invoice and reminds me I can contact my customer (in English). It would be much easier if it were all in one language (for me, English).

    I agree with all your comments ... but I can't see where you can 'edit' the invoice? Can you point me in the right direction?

    I only see a tab which says 'invoice'. When I clicked on this it just sends the invoice ... there was no opportunity to review. The invoice it did send was incorrect because items already paid for were included. There is no facility to send a revised one.

    Also I can't print a packing list without sending an invoice. Many times my buyers accumulate purchases before paying ... but I like to pull out the items so they are ready to go ahead of sending the invoice. The new system will make this impossible / very difficult.

    I agree with all your comments ... but I can't see where you can 'edit' the invoice? Can you point me in the right direction?

    I only see a tab which says 'invoice'. When I clicked on this it just sends the invoice ... there was no opportunity to review. The invoice it did send was incorrect because items already paid for were included. There is no facility to send a revised one.

    Also I can't print a packing list without sending an invoice. Many times my buyers accumulate purchases before paying ... but I like to pull out the items so they are ready to go ahead of sending the invoice. The new system will make this impossible / very difficult.

    Hi Alan,

    Ignore the 'awaiting invoice' tab, you have to go into the 2nd tab, 'awaiting payment' - there is a large blue 'Edit' button on the right - ignore the dropdown and just hit on the button - that will bring up the 'invoice' to which you can add postage etc. plus a message and send.

    It's total rubbish but no change there then!!!!

    Hi Alan,

    Ignore the 'awaiting invoice' tab, you have to go into the 2nd tab, 'awaiting payment' - there is a large blue 'Edit' button on the right - ignore the dropdown and just hit on the button - that will bring up the 'invoice' to which you can add postage etc. plus a message and send.

    It's total rubbish but no change there then!!!!

    Thankfully by other half has offered to buy me lunch, so off I go in the sure & certain knowledge that, on my return this afternoon, the system will be perfectly formed and all will be well with the world!!:D:cool:

    The new 'management' pages are down - thank goodness - it would appear that some sense has prevailed somewhere.

    Well I have had some sales, but of course the invoicing doesn't work.
    In fact there were so many glitches I have had to give up.
    Even when they get this new system working the new set up won't work very well for me. It will take more time to do things and I will have to think about introducing a new 'modus operandi'. I will seriously have to think whether this is all worthwhile. It is every time Delcampe introduces something new there are problems. I think they'll find that the new software will slow down the Sales Management area too!

    What a PITA.

    Over the past 12 months I've seen two other web sites undergo similar 'refurbishments' to the 'look and feel' of their software - namely Skrill and Constant Contact. They are probably all using the same development tools as they are all making the same mistakes! They seem to think that breaking the data down into smaller portions is best and faster - take a look (when the system recovers) at all the new tabs. This actually slows things down having to look in different areas to complete tasks! In fact what happens is that functions and ease of use that was in the old system disappear (usually forever) and the system is less 'fit for purpose' than it was before. It doesn't matter how much you complain there is never any going back ... and the web site is locked into the development by the development tool being used. It is a 'gotcha' all round.

    Why does noone ever talk to users of the system? Why do developers develop for elegance and not function / ease of use / need.

    In the examples I've mentioned both systems are slower to use and provide less function and are less intuitive now than they were 12 months ago. I expect Delcampe's latest enhancements will prove the same if they manage to iron out all the initial software and data problems they have created.

    You have to ask - who asked for these changes? There are surely more pressing areas of the system to be sorted out e.g. the discounting functions.

    Surely a system backup was undertaken before such a fundamental change was implemented? If so, why can't Delcampe revert to this ... and then work on getting their enhancements sorted out.

    Perhaps the Delcampe sellers who tested this system can put their hands up and explain what they actually did and why they think these changes are actually improvements.

    It is just another in a long line of enhancements that have gone pear shaped.
