Add-On problem with Delcampe in IE8

There is something very odd occurring with the Delcampe website when running under Internet Explorer 8. I keep getting an Information Bar message stating that "An add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings in Internet Options for potential conflicts." This is particularly evident when using the Search facility with the result that I am getting an auditory blip and an unwanted Information Bar displayed each time I move to another page.

This is not happening on any other website under Internet Explorer which I am able to browse without problems. Attempts to turn the Information Bar off have not remedied the problem. On using the Firefox browser I experienced no such problem in using Delcampe. Therefore I can only presume that this is a problem unique to Internet Explorer.

In an effort to overcome this, I have changed my internet settings and allowed all possible add-ons to run, have placed Delcampe.net in the Trusted Sites for the IE browser with the Security Settings set to "Low", turned off the Pop-Up Blocker, and yet still the problem persists! I have, of course, completely cleared out the cache, cookies etc. and rebooted the computer after each experimental change to the IE settings but none of these have solved the problem.

Whilst I am quite content to use the Firefox browser for Delcampe, there does seem to be an issue with regard to browsing the site under Internet Explorer.

Could your technical team have a look at this problem? Is anybody else experiencing similar difficulties with IE8?

    Hello,

This looks quite odd. Can you try first to check your computer with antivirus, clean your browser's cache etc ?

Because apparently, we do not receive any other complain about this.

Hello Sebastien, Thanks for reading my post.

I have done all the obvious things, such as cache clearance and checked for viruses etc. but have still not discovered what the problem is. I am, incidentally, someone who is technically adept with computers, :pc_user:so I usually know what I am doing, but am mystefied by this.:pc_user3:

    As I said before:-

    i) The problem only occurs with Delcampe in Internet Explorer 8.
ii) All other websites display in IE8 with no problems.
iii) Delcampe runs fine, with no problems, in the Firefox browser.

Consequently I am using Firefox to view the Delcampe site.

My installation of IE8 and Windows XP is a relatively clean one, as I experienced hard disc failure at the beginning of February so have had to reinstall and rebuild everything on a new disc.:help: I have not experienced this Add-On problem before that, so I am completely puzzled by this bizarre behaviour under IE8.

    Hello,

Hmmmm... maybe you should try upgrading to Internet Explorer 9 ?
