Lower bids

Well over 2 weeks ago I sold an item, which to date has not been paid for, in spite of a message and a repeat invoice at the one and 2 week stage.
Today I've started to receive multiple lower bids from this person - after rejecting the first lot, they then sent me a 2nd lot, which I've also rejected.

Normally I accept all lower offers, but really didn't fancy risking accepting them and not getting paid for them, specially since the buyer has received to negatives this week for non payment.

Would everybody else have done the same thing?

    Good evening Old,

Thanks for the reply. I did consider blacklisting them, but I generally don't do so until "I've given up" on a transaction and I hadn't quite reached that stage yet.

    Evening Marianne,

I'm not in the position you find yourself in but I have in the past had multiple lower bid offers which I considered unreasonable; now like you I 'normally' accept lower offers (especially if an item has been hanging around for a while) but I have no qualms about refusing a bid I consider unreasonable, and for a buyer to request a lower bid when already overdue with a payment fits squarely in that category unless (s)he had made the intention clear at the outset, so I think you're quite within your right to insist that the outstanding transaction is completed before considering any other requests

    Hello Xtf,

I have not told my "buyer" why I refused the offers. Ordinarily I would have been very happy to accept them, as they were mostly about 80% of the original asking price. Even, if they'd communicated prior to making the offers with something along the lines of "I know I purchased 2+ weeks ago and haven't paid yet, but i am interested in those items" I would have accepted happily. It's the lack of contact that has put me off.

The joys of online selling! :angryfire:
