new UK postmans stamp cancel?

    Hope people are still reading the forum on the new website, I quite liked the old one.
    There was some talk of UK postmen being equipped with a little roller canceling device for letters he saw in his delivery with stamps that had not been cancelled to prevent him from using a ballpoint pen to cancel them, thus destroying their value to collectors.
    I wonder whether the attached was it? It was on my Christmas mail

    This would be a great idea.Unfortunately my postman would be too busy .....95 % of my mail is unfranked.
    Letters from other countries are all franked correctly though
