Hello, i would like to share with you a very unpleasant experience i had when i bought 3 stamp sets from a seller ( Margrethull) in Delcampe. One day after the auction has ended and after i have paid270 euros in total to the seller , Delcampe closed the sellers account without explaing why and without halting her account . The seller got the money , Delcampe got the fees and i ve got NOTHING . Stamps never came and email add of the seller was closed the same day. Delcampe answered to me that they cannot do anything to help me, and that they are just very sorry !! They have told me to press charges against her and that they can only help then. Has anyone of you the same experience, or can anyone of you help me in anay way?

Much depends on how you paid this seller.

If you used Paypal or any credit card funded payment you can make a chargeback. Otherwise I'm afraid you have lost your money - unless the seller is in your own country where you can use your legal system to try and get your money back. If you have paid using Paypal you only have a limited time to initiate a chargeback.

Unfortunately i have paid with Skrill and i forgot to mention that i only got sympathy and understanding from them too . They could do nothing as Delcampe did nothing. Vey frustrating indeed. I am very disappointed by both Delcampe and Skrill. No protection at all for the buyers. They are only interested to get their fees and nothing more

Unfortunately I do not see how Delcampe can take responsibility for a seller not supplying the goods you have won. Delcampe is just a platform for sellers and buyers to meet for which they take a commission from the seller when an item sells.

It is really up to the buyer to do a little research on the seller before buying - such as reading feedbacks - especially those less than flattering - to see how that seller performs. If dealing with a large sum of money make sure you use a safe method of paying so if there is a problem you can get your money back.

If the seller does not accept Paypal/Credit card or offer a money back guarantee and has loads of opt out disclaimers then do not deal with them. Fortunately most people are honest but there are always the exceptions - and you had the misfortune to come across one of these.

You do not state what country your seller is from.

If the seller is in the UK there is the Small Claims court where you (even in Greece) can issue a summons for non payment - but this is not cheap at (I think) £50. And it can be done on-line as well. But if it gets to a hearing stage you will need someone here to represent you in court unless you want to do it yourself.

Yes the seller is from Manchester UK. Can you please send me the url of the Small Claims court in order to investigate if there is a possibility to find a solution? I have already reported at the police , i have pressed charges and the case is in the Interpol hands.

To make a claim/case online this is the URL:

    Link (https)

You will need to register first.

Alternatively you can write to the County Court in Manchester for the forms to fill in and issue the clain by post. If you 'Google' Manchester County Court you will get the address etc.

    Good luck.
