and thrown in at the deep end.
After a 200 mile journey I had over 40 sales to deal with and a number of questions to answer.

It was a tiring journey and could have done without it.

I did leave Devon on a high though. As we drove away, we spotted this pair in our field next to the cottage.

First time I've seen fallow deer down there - usually it's roe deer and we have regular sightings of at least 3 of them.

You may like these as well - actually taken in our garden. Roe deer though.

First image is a young male, who visits on his own.
Second image is a pair of females, who always seem to show up together.

Unfortunately, I only spend 5 or 6 days a month there. It's rather remote - no traffic noise/pollution, no light pollution. I'd never seen so many stars in the sky until the first clear nights down there.

The last 2.5 miles (4 kms) of roads are very narrow though and as a result we don't get any through traffic - only local people. Some of our friends are seriously worried about that last bit. Public road and not a one way system - you can meet someone at any point.

These picture was taking early spring when the vegetation hasn't grown yet - this time of year you often have plants brushing against both sides of the car.
