GetBuyerInfo no longer provides buyer's email address

    Since May 13, 2024, the email contact to buyer field will no longer be filled. It now says “deprecated”. Well, the other platforms have been doing this for a long time with the more or less “flimsy” justification of data protection.

    But on the other platforms at least the buyer's platform email address is included. This means it is still possible to send the buyer messages about the status of their order.

    Since Delcampe has not been able to upload the order status/tracking and shipping information via the API for years. Until now, email was the only way to automatically inform the customer.

    Why isn't the Delcampe email address included here and why is something like this switched off almost overnight without notice? The whole order processing isn't working again!!!

    But even if the Delacmpe email address were now in this field, it doesn't work because if we use this email address, an error email comes back from Delcampe with the information that this email address does not exist at Delcampe.

    So, and now ?

    We are already busy explaining to buyers how this currently works. The email with information and explanations about the new payment processing is no longer sent to the buyer.

    Manual invoices can no longer be created because the conditions of the shipping templates are no longer taken into account, e.g. For PAYPAL payment, shipping only by registered mail.

    Partial refunds are no longer possible.

    The PAYPAL statement for the seller is still incorrect. The total from the Delcampe payment view cannot be seen on PAYPAL.

    Sales with different shipping cost templates (large letter / small letter etc.) are not automatically combined. This would be relatively easy to solve. All that would be necessary is a click box in the respective template, which can be used to specify that if there are other templates in the order, the template that results in the highest shipping cost amount should be selected.

    Delcampe's order processing is a mess!!!!

    What should we sellers do now? The best thing to do is not to sell anything through Delcampe, that will save your nerves... :d-unhappy:

    Soon you will have to pay 240 euros a year so that you can use the API (= automate processes), with which you can automate less and less.
