Please fix the loading problem...

    It seems the loading time is a problem that doesn't get fixed.There is a lot of hype about the new speed of the site....I don't see it.Uploads take forever again.Delcampe should shut down the site and repair the issue rather than let us suffer through the agony of one minute plus uploads,with many not uploading at all.What is wrong with the new servers?

    Same problem.it takes apr.a minute to upload one picture.

    I actually had a response from Benjamin on this in reply to a comment I made on the "photo uploads" thread. He suggested that it might be my browser(s) but it isn't.

    I assume therefore that he is still investigating the possibility that the problem may be at Delcampe's end.........

    I actually had a response from Benjamin on this in reply to a comment I made on the "photo uploads" thread. He suggested that it might be my browser(s) but it isn't.

    I assume therefore that he is still investigating the possibility that the problem may be at Delcampe's end.........

    I have been unable to upload for 2 days now.

    Just tried with a pic of 75kb, waited 4 minutes, couldnt load.
    Then tried a pic of 30kb, it was ok.
    So, is it the size of the pic?

    Size of picture should not be a problem - certainly not that small.
    Everything over 200kb gets compressed by Delcampe when you upload it. I've uploaded 2 or 3 mb files in the past with no problem.

    It looks like the "good old story" again, which has been happening ever since I joined the site. The servers are not big enough to cope with the volume of traffic.

    Size of picture should not be a problem - certainly not that small.
    Everything over 200kb gets compressed by Delcampe when you upload it. I've uploaded 2 or 3 mb files in the past with no problem.

    It looks like the "good old story" again, which has been happening ever since I joined the site. The servers are not big enough to cope with the volume of traffic.

    It's a real shame.

    I love Delcampe, but they seem to be too slow upgrading/enlarging server space, which every now and again leads to several weeks of misery until they upgrade.

    I am not a computer geek and have no idea of what is wrong.I do know that when the new fees were added,they were meant to finance new servers to eliminate problems.I would much rather do something more productive than sit and watch the moving blue bar.Please let us know what the problem is and when if possible it can be fixed.

    Regretfully, that is exactly the conclusion that I arrived at and will defer any further major listing of new material until the problem is fixed.,...fixed permanently not fixed temporarily like too many of the recent "fixes".

    I am, however, very pleased that Delcampe tech staff are aware of the position but, as the problem has existed for months if not years now, maybe it is time to move from being aware of the problem to fixing it?

    The only way I can get ant listings done in a reasonable time right now is to compress the pic my end to web-page compression ie 15-30kb. Quite ridiculous to have to even consider this in 2013....2003 yes. but in 2013?

    And...I list evenings my time which will be 10 am to early afternoon in Europe. Hardly peak times I would guess.

    All that being said, I would still dearly like to be able to continue listing & selling in a reasonable manner as Delcampe remains my site of choice despite the many alternatives now available.

    So my plea is please STOP all minor improvements, upgrades etc etc until site stability and speed are restored even to something halfway decent. For the site to be as speedy as claimed in the recent newsletter would have many sellers jumping up and down with joy!

    Hi Benjamin....still having very slow uploads.Especially after noon eastern daylight savings time.Your tech people have not fixed what is probably a fault of the servers.Too much uploading and the servers get backlogged.The problem seems better than before but still needs some work.

    at 20:01 tried a 30kb pic, was successful. 50kb not loading.
    So, must it be tiny pictures?
