Fee template problem

Delcampe have applied a Fee template recently. When a seller created a fee template, a fixed postage fee will displayed in the
Payment request automatically. However, I found once you created a fee template there will be many troubles. First, the fixed fee, e.g. US$3 for registered mail cost, is applied to every item, instead of per invoice. If the order include 10 items, the postage
cost displayed on buyer's side will be $30, while the right cost should be $3. I believe most buyers will stand back before place the order.

I was told its not a bug, and thats the way it was designed.

I tried to set the postage cost as 0, the result is that you can't add any postage cost in the Payment request by modify the cost, as The cost can't exceeding the fixed cost, as they put it.

Tried to remove the fees, as a result none of the buyers could place an order in your shop. A pop-up message will warn the buyer that the seller do not accept bids from the buyer's country.

At last I found you can't delete the Fee template once you created it, except you create another fee template to replace it.

Completely baffled by it. Hope it never exist. I take it as a disaster. I like to know how other sellers handled this Fee template. Maybe someone could give me some advice. Also I wish webmaster could do something about it. :o :o :o

Thank your baltija for your helpful note. By using Add a new fee template, I did found there is a type selection, and the Quantity type solved my problem.

Once you created a fee template, you could not change the type again, seems this is the cause of all my trouble.

II had this problem also. To fix I did the following:

Created a new template with correct parameters (you can use a temporary name if you like the existing one)
Use multiple changes to amend all items using the incorrect template to use the new template.
Delete Incorrect Template as no items using it
Amend name on new template to the original name if required

    Hope this helps.

Yes you are right. But seems need not to amend all items involved. I have created a new template with correct parameters, deleted old one, and changed the new template name to the original name. I found it works in this way.

Again for the template problem mentioned above, once you saved a new fee template, you can't change the fee type again, as Type Selection will no longer be displayed in the editing page. This may put new users in a tight spot. I found all parameters are displayed in the editing page, except Type Selection.
