There continue to be changes in the how search syntax is working. As of this morning, and once again, the '|' vertical bar is not functioning as 'or'. And '-' for terms to exclude is not working. I have reported this before, and it was at least partially fixed quite quickly, but the problem is back today.

These options have been available as long as I can recall, though they did disappear when the new site was introduced. This syntax does not appear to be described in the help system so it is hard to know what should or should not work. But it is extremely annoying when functionality changes. Remember that many of us have saved complex searches and it is frustrating when they no longer work, and it is not clear whether the changes are deliberate or not.

Moreover, the use of '|', '-', '*' and the like is fairly standard in other searches such as Google, or alternate auction sites. I am sure Delcampe does not want to be left behind....

I am aware that there is an alternative to exluding terms with '-' by using 'terms to be excluded'. That is however tedious to use repeatedly, and requires the user to remember the exclusions for a particular search.

Please sort this definitively, and ideally please document what should work.

CAN someone from Delcampw tell us how to use the advance search using special characters please???? Why do you make our life more difficult with the new website?
