Shipping Items

I thought I'd try the new Delcampe for confirming some Shipments.
I only tried one and then gave up.

The Contact form has been changed - couldn't copy and paste as normal. The header and trailer on the standard form has gone AWOL. Then when I send the message it took me somewhere else other than Shipments!

Then I marked the item as 'shipped' but it looks as if that is the only place you can leave feedbacks!

    Another retrograde step.

Looks like we are being used as testers again.

Net, I gave up using the new and reverted to the old. :whiteflag:

    It's the same here.
I have a buyer who bought 1 item and ask for an invoice.
10 minutes later he bought another item and ask for an invoice.
After a couple of hours I've now tried to send an invoice via the new Delcampe.
but I can't do it on 1 invoice.
If I sent 2 invoices the buyer surely will pay me in 2 payments and I then have to pay Paypal fees X 2.
I sent him an invoice with both items via the "GOOD OLD DELCAMPE" without any problems.
I have now used several hours reading and trying a lot of things on the new Delcampe, but nearly nothing seems to work well.
I listed a lot of items the last 2 days, but I think that the buyers simply don't know how to use the New Delcampe, because I haven't sold any of the listed items and I can only count very few visits.

I have just successfully sent an invoice for multiple items.

Had you already sent the first invoice and were you trying to combine the 2 transactions or was it the first invoice for the 2 sales?

It appears, that you should be able to leave feedback under the tab "interactions".

Towards the bottom (left hand side) there is a dropdown for "more links". One of the options there is "feedback to give". The snag: it takes you to your feedback that you've already left!!

No, I was only trying to send 1 invoice for the 2 items in the new Delcampe.
and yes I can also in the new Delcampe combine an already sent invoice with a new invoice for new bought items.

I sent the invoice via the old Delcampe and it's already paid, but still in the new Delcampe 1 of the items stay as unpaid.
I will take a look at it tomorrow

Have you seen how untidy the invoice, created in the new Delcampe is:

No longer a list of all the items the invoice relates to and the various boxes have not been resized properly.

I've just looked at my unpaid items in the New Delcampe, and now the invoice is gone, so it must have been delated.
I have asked Delcampe a lot of questions in "your opinion", and I have got answer of some of my questions

And the Delivery Note (Packing List) is pretty awful too.

I thought all of this had been resolved when the Sales Management System was rolled out. Why all change again!

I commented about the packing slip in a different thread - you may want to have a look at my comments.

And unless, I haven't figured out how to do it, I also don't like the way you now have to view the "items to invoice".

"sold items" only shows the buyers name and to see what they've purchased you get a silly pop up screen, rather than a list of items under their name.

I'm afraid I gave up ... passed a few comments to Delcampe ... and then threw it in the bin in disgust. This is becoming a major but nevertheless concerning distraction. I find much of what I see as visually unappealing and bland which ultimately will be a 'turn off'.

I can't quite put my finger on it at the moment but I sense it may the font they are using and square boxes. What they have now works well so why change it! I'm sounding like a broken record already.

sold items you must click on the key which mention the number of items and you will get an image of each sold item.

This new Delcampe will surely give us sellers a reduction in sales, because most of the buyers here I'm sure are +60, and many of them can't figure it out to click on all the keys to get a list of all our items for sale.

I just try to search Denmark FDC and I got a list of all my Denmark FDC's for sale, but if I search Denmark FDC 1967 I got the message that there are no items,
even I can see that there are more 1967 Denmark FDC's in my store.

I also wish we could go on with "the good old Delcampe", but things are changing faster than a big part of us users can follow.
We must accept this brave new world even we don't like it, and try to accept it as well as we can do it.

I don't mind change but it has to work otherwise it won't be profitable.
Lets hope that Delcampe can make it work.

I fear that it is now the way of software development - try it, test it on unsuspecting users and then change it based on feedback. However, this method can lead to serious design flaws. The big question for me is just how long they can manage to keep the old and new sites in sync to resolve the issues arising in the new - that in itself is a major undertaking.

I'm not running from the site quite so soon.

    Alan,

As usual when changes are introduced, it is full of bugs, BUT...

on a positive note. They are running the new and old site alongside each other, which means, that

    a. we can slowly familiarize ourselves with it and much more importantly

    b. we can point out anything and everything that does not work and hopefully some of our comments will be taken on board by Delcampe.

Given that my youngest is a software writer/designer, it is certainly not the norm to launch software that has not been thoroughly tried and tested.

I think the system is reasonably stable but the problem is that the functionality and its presentation doesn't meet user expectations. This might be relatively easy to fix ... we'll see. What always amazes me is that this is really only a regurgitation of what is already there to a large degree but some bits of functionality are either no longer there or present themselves in a way that is more difficult to use. And I hate spending time 'testing' and trying to work out how things are meant to work. :angryfire:

Thanks Mainly.....that is exactly my view.

Maybe I am in the minority because I quite like the new site.

As you say, the old site is being run in sync for the time being so I intend to continue using the old site rather than the new one for now....and just visit the new site now and again to see whether it is now in a workable condition.

I assume that one of the reasons for the new site was to make D accessible on mobile platforms. If that is the case, sales should increase quite a bit...eventually

Yes, it was indeed the reason to make it tablet/phone friendly.

We have had discussions about this in the past, when there were users complaining that there was no phone/tablet app.

As far as I am concerned personally, I'm happy to press the buy button on my phone if I am buying new items, such as electricals, household goods, etc., but when it comes to clothes, home accesories/ornaments, etc. and used items (i.e collectables and therefore everything that Delcampe has to offer, I want my big computer screen and much bigger images). Maybe it would be ok for stamps, as they are so small and even on a phone screen, you could view it larger than actual size, but that's about it.

I also expect that there are no (larger volume) sellers, who do any of there selling with a phone/tablet and in order to process sales efficiently, the functionality on the pc has to be good.
