    Skrill is not a scam. I do not have the same problems as you do - except maybe their customer service stinks. And it does not seem to be much of a problem with other users on Delcampe if the response on this forum is anything to go by.

    You need to be a little careful with your terminology when challenging powerful companies like Skrill unless you can justify using a word like 'scam' which has criminal cheating connotations - the libel courts are ruinously expensive for those that lose!

    You're obviously having a problem which is not being replicated elsewhere. I've dealt with Skrill for a few years, paying sellers, receiving payments and withdrawing money with no problem. Yes, their customer service is not great but, as Wycombe says, be very careful what you say - it is not a scam, whatever your frustrations may make you consider.

    I have used Skrill for about 7 years now, and I have never got any problems.

    I also never had problems with Skrill, until last Saturday.
    I'm currently unable to upload funds on my account using my credit card; the card authentication procedure is completed correclty, but Skrill states that the transaction has failed.
    The card details are not changed from previous times, so I think it must be some technical problem.
    I opened a ticket, I hope they will look into it... :question:

    Have done that - 1 post relating to 1 individual, calling it a scam - just like you!!! - same person by any chance?

    Another single post of about 2 years ago - still no actual evidence.

    I must admit that Skrill have managed to build up an awful reputation in the USA due to their absolutely appalling customer service.

    They were once the 'bright light' to challenge Paypal's dominence in the online payment transfer market but have manged to destroy any hope of that with the cavalier and ignorant way they seem to operate. The following reviews - most of them recent bear this out:-

    Saying that though - I am in the UK and have had no problems with them. One of the US users who slated Skrill in the linked site did get satisfaction through the UK's financial regulatory system (and he gave a link to that as well). If everyone did that and complained that way instead of moaning maybe Skrill's customer services would improve. They only get away with terrible service because no one takes them to task over it.

    And I'm not saying Skrill are perfect - far from it, and as you say their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

    I can fully understand people like the OP are frustrated and annoyed by what appears to be Skrill's inability to communicate or do anything, but it still doesn't make it a scam.

    Skrill is owned, I believe, by a hedge fund, and past history has shown that these businesses are not slow to seek redress where they feel their reputation has been impugned, so the OP should perhaps once again be aware of the possible outcomes of his actions.

    I think most (if not all) of us have had at one time or other problems with the websites we use for our online transactions. Be it auction site, retail site, payment facilitator.

    If a situation arises step back, take 10 deep breaths before taking any action whatsoever.

    I've been selling online since 2004 and every single site I use has caused me grief at one time or other. However, shouting and yelling that "xxx" is a scam is not going to resolve the situation.

    Compose yourself before doing anything. After that send an email/web message/live chat/whatever option is available and remain scrupulously polite at all times. In my experience that usually solves the problem. If it doesn't - vote with your feet and abandon the site.
