Lister - Description Problems

I am a regular daily user of Lister.
In fact 99% of all my listings are created in Lister and uploaded using this product. I do not import listings from any other files or systems into listings.
For me it is essential tool.

I have, however, noticed that some but not all of my listing descriptions appear with the formatting characteristics included when they are accessed / viewed on the site.

As an example #332188744 shows the description as:

    "font-family:verdana,geneva">- 1937: KGV
    "font-family:verdana,geneva">- Value: 5c on ½d
    "font-family:verdana,geneva">- MH
    "font-family:verdana,geneva">- SG 230

Clearly this is messy and undesirable.

I reported the matter to Delcampe and received the following response:

"This is due to the formatting in your excel or CSV file. Your description is written in rich text rather than in plain text.

When the information is uploaded onto the Delcampe website, the formatting is lost, and only the plain text appears.

This is why the formatting code appears.

In order to adjust this, I recommend that you change your descriptions to plain text only and update your sales."

Clearly it is impossible for me to undertake this suggestion as it is Lister that I am using to create the uploaded file and only Delcampe has control over this application. And of course it is their description format feature that I am using!

Not all listings are affected in the same batch!

And finally I have no idea how many listings are affected.

Further from experience there is no guarantee that using the site Listing tool to amend the error sale by sale will improve matters. This can create some other undesirable formatting glitches.

Net, is anyone else experiencing similar problems? :whiteflag:

    Does no one use Lister?

If you do a similar problem to the one described in my original post will happen to you at some point. There is a glitch in the Lister software or more likely at the point when the listings have been uploaded and processed into the Delcampe system.

I use the Lister all the time - but I write my description into wordpad and then cut and paste it into the Lister. No problems yet and I use HTML coding as well.

Though I am surprised no one else has had your problem - unless it is peculiar to yourself of course!

The problem is that it is intermittent ... 50+ listings today ... and the problem didn't surface ... at least not from the sampling I did. But I'll report again when I come across it ... but I do know quite a few of my listings are affected but I'm not going to check them all individually (11000+)!
