All depends on your terms and conditions and whether you stick to them rigidly or not.

If you state you only accept Paypal for payment you can decline to accept business from anyone who offers an alternative payment method. It is probably better to make clear which payment methods you will not, under any circumstances, accept and make that very clear - and reinforce this at the invoice stage. Then any negative feedback from those that never ever read a sellers terms and conditions can be removed if the feedback was due to payment methods accepted.

You will find a lot of buyers on Delcampe do not like Paypal because many sellers surcharge for its use - hence you will often get requests for IBAN transfers and the like. Also there are some that do not have Paypal accounts and refuse to open them. So if you adhere rigidly to Paypal only you will lose business.

With dispatch of items it is the convention, unless you state otherwise, that items are only sent when cleared payment has been received.

I still get the occasional buyer who pays by cash or cheque. albeit this is probably less than 1% of the total.

If I know the buyer - someone who has bought from me before, or if they pay be cash, I will send on their purchases on receipt of payment, but for first time cheque buyers, I would wait until a cheque clears, but would send them a message to tell them that's what I am doing.

It's a pain, but for me thankfully it only happens occasionally.

I notice you are in France.

Presumably that means that you have a French bank account.

If so, why not consider bank transfer as one of the payment options? As Wycombe stated, some people do not want to have anything to do with Paypal and strictly adhering to "Paypal only" could potentially lose you business.

I state "no cash" (after someone claimed to have sent me - or maybe did send me cash, which never arrived. This was on another website and it turned into a right argument. However, if someone does send me cash, I don't turn it down (as long as it is in GBP).
