    If you paid by Paypal a chargeback normally obtains a rapid reaction as it costs the seller £7 (in the UK) if it goes through without a response or refund!

    Unfortunately, Delcampe has little traction with sellers except to request them to be specific about postage costs, suspend them or cancel their registration. They are the host site only and make rules that a few rogue sellers just ignore.

    You can start a dispute via Delcampe but my own experience of that is that the slow pace makes the process tedious - nowadays we want quick resolution to problems & queries - having to wait a week or two is so 1990's

    If you paid by paypal, your best recourse is to reclaim for non-delivery. The seller will then have to prove delivery....paypal seems to side with the buyer 99% of the time.

    And of course......buy from someone else!

    Your other point was about lack of descriptions. Frequently I think that the scan & brief description are quite adequate provided that any defects or special features are prominently displayed. A potential buyer can always ask a question on any item where more details are required by him/her.

    Yes, the descriptions on here are a problem.

    I sell postcards and have to laugh at some people's listings. Some state the card is in excellent condition but there's a dirty great crease in one of the corners!

    Others have no mention of the postcard's publisher or serial number. That's a good way to get reduced sales as when I visit postcard fairs there are collectors with lists of cards they are looking for with this information.

    However, there are plenty of sellers on here with very good descriptions and images. I've seen some stamp dealers take a lot of care about this, even with low-priced items.
