On a positive note ...

I've moaned a lot about the 'new' system but I did discover one aspect that I liked and that is the ability to view an invoice / packing list in title sequence. This grouped my 70+ sales to a buyer in title sequence (which includes the 'country') which in turn for me coincides with their filing by country.

Previously I've had to search by country on large orders to be able to view all the items for a country ... as I think the sales are shown in the order of date listed.

Anyhow this saved a lot of time - pity I couldn't print it in that sequence.

Nice to see a few sales too! :veryhappy:

the spoken languages of buyers has previously been mentioned within the E-Mail announcement.

One major fault concerning languages has not yet and probably will never get correctd:

the language I know best "Schwyzerdütsch" (Swiss German) is missing

Yes....generally speaking, the new system has several plus points & will probably be OK once the glitches are ironed out.

But as the new system was not really essential in the first place, I till maintain that the whole process was a botched up exercise in futility and, frankly, is of practically zero benefit in sales or profit terms

I really hope that the management of D take more care in its next 'charm offensive' and concentrate on things that really do have benefit to sellers and buyers (like advertising, mobile apps etc) rather than imposing superficial changes on its unwilling members.

I am glad that sales are starting to return of course.....

    I agree with your sentiments.

I would like more effort to go into the promotional aspects within the site e.g. the discounting facilities which are not brilliant. I mentioned this to Delcampe as soon as I moved to the site but any changes have been purely cosmetic. This could give sellers more promotional options.

There's lots of things that they could do but it seems other projects are in front of initiatives that improve 'selling'.

    :cool2: Two thumbs up!

Yes, two things BUYERS want to be able to see and that they react to positively when it comes to getting them to complete a sale.

These are now obvious to all the other sites that conduct market research, but Delcampe apparently sees no need for such "frills" - or a mobile app.

    I concur completely.

Maybe I am at rather a disadvantage to European or other mainland sellers as I really am in an out of the way area, post takes 14-21 days to arrive and there is a natural reluctance to buy from the Philippines anyway.

So I have to ensure that my stocks are top quality, favourably priced and need to concentrate on selling non-mainstream countries wherever possible or unusual items.

So I would certainly appreciate a boost by any Delcampe marketing initiative especially one that is very visible online (not like the bonus card.....reminds me of trading stamps) or highlighted sales but something really different and innovative.

How about it, Delcampe.......fancy redeeming yourselves with some positive marketing thoughts? Surely, everyone would benefit even if it costs money to the participants.

Another positive note about the new system... - the 'awaiting dispatch' function.

A customer bought a few items early last week. No notification of payment received which I thought was a bit odd as he is a good repeat customer with a history with me of paying very promptly, AND system showed that he had logged in within the last 24 hours.

Eventually noticed last night that I had an 'awaiting dispatch' item, which, when I clicked on it, turned out to be this customer who had actually paid last Wednesday!

I never received either the Delcampe notification that payment had been made, nor the Paypal payment notification (nor have I got them yet!). A quick check with Paypal showed that the invoice had indeed been paid. I can only assume that the lack of e-mails was down to some glitch with my e-mail provider and not Delcampe (unlike some others, I have had no problems before or since, with getting such e-mails).

With the old system, they could have lain buried in the general sales notifications for some time, possibly until the customer had contacted me wondering where his stamps had got to.

Like some others, I remain to be convinced whether the new system is overall a significant advance on the old one, but certainly credit where it is due in this case for this feature.
