Prestige? NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!

    This is to warn you before you place a bid on "Prestige"

    Here is what happened to me:
    I placed a bid on a lot offered by a canadian Auction on D-Prestige. It was priced here with C$125.00 - that's why I offered C$150.00

    Much to my surprise I have got 3 confirmation E-mails from said Auction in direct with my FULL NAME with confirmation of my bid on that lot, NOW priced only C$80.00
    I don't know, where that error came from, one Thing is sure:
    On a 80-Dollar item I surely would not have placed a bid of 150 Dollars.

    I am very upset that Delcampe forwarded my address Details without my consent before the clossing ofsaid auction where it is unsure that I'll be the "winner".

    It cannot be, that my privacy is kept hidden on every USUAL small transaction here, but NOT on Prestige - here are their own Terms:

    discrete manner??? all my details DURING an auction? are you kidding????
    This is what I call a SECURITY GAP! be aware of it.

    Finally I have got a Delcampe-Prestige Newsletter I never subscribed for.
    the closing option for this unwanted SPAM was quite complicated - with additional confirmation mail.

    You may find that the CA$150 was an estimate. As there were no other bidders your bid was registered at the lowest price the auction would accept (the start price).

    Your high bid will only be used if there are other bidders who bid the item up to the total amount you bid. This is quite usual in 'live' auctions.

    If you had bid outside of Delcampe you would have filled in a bid form entering all your details - Delcampe have simply done that for you - so they are not breaking any data protection rules.

    If you had bid outside of Delcampe you would have filled in a bid form entering all your details - Delcampe have simply done that for you - so they are not breaking any data protection rules.

    I have not placed my bid outside of Delcampe.
    AND
    if they pass on my data BEFORE closing of auction, they should have mentionned it CLEARLY in their own terms.

    BUT
    I was contacted DURING said auction, not after.

    Please explain me, why my privacy is kept hidden by Delcampe in case of a micro-bid at 10c on marketplace, but NOT on valuable Transactions on Prestige.
    Do you at least see the Problem? Else I am going to state my Point of view again - repeatedly.

    Hello again:hello:

    I use to post in the German Forum, where you rarely meet someone from the Delcampe team.

    Quite contrary to here, where one can post a question or whatever and almost immediately get answers and Support from said Team - especially from one member.

    I must admit, Benjamin does a GREAT Job here :cool:
