    I have not received this message yet.

    But if I do my account will be closed. Although my payments received through Skrill have been steadily improving I still would be paying them extra each month. In my opinion a rip off.

    Thanks for pointing this out.

    Skrill is still a poor 2nd (or worse) alternative to paypal and I will certainly close my account with them as hardly anyone uses it.

    Ever since the company changed its name from moneybookers to the faintly ridiculous skrill, they seem to have lost the plot.....

    Not too sure if Skrill distinguishes between 'ordinary' and 'merchant'?

    If Skrill implements something like this I'm sure it will lose 90% of its business and very few will open new accounts. Most of the buyers who use Skrill will desert as who would want to pay £10 per month to make the odd payment for an auction lot?

    A totally barmy idea which will put them back to the stone age in electronic payment transfer terms. In one fell swoop Paypal will cement its position as the No. 1 payment method without the need for any promotion or advertising!

    Saying all that - I have still not received anything from Skrill about this!

    You might be right about the merchant / ordinary members - I haven't received anything either, and I note that the example Mainly quotes talks about 'shops', so perhaps, like Paypal micropayments, they will just keep the smaller ones going as is.

    Possibly grasping at straws - I would get perhaps £50 in a good sales month paid via Skrill, so would close it down if this is imposed on everyone. As it is, it's little more than a convenience for my few customers who use it.

    I've got a personal account and not received this message BUT while looking through my transaction history I noticed my last sale (of £3.20) attracted a FEE of 6p and a PER TRANSACTION FEE of 16p - which makes it more expensive than PayPal Micropayments!

    Oh, and watch out when making refunds - my last refund for 35p attracted a MERCHANT REFUND FEE of 42p which is an order of magnitude greater than PayPal; I'd have been better off sending a few extra stamps than refunding the excess payment

    I'm guessing here but I think the Per Transaction and Refund Fee kick in because payment was made through Delcampe's Wallet

    I've just been on to my Skrill account and found a debit of £15 on 11th September for 'Gateway Usage Fee'

    Never having seen this before I searched the Help pages and came up with this:

    "Any commercial user that has accepted payments through the Skrill Gateway within the last month but not reached the minimum monthly turnover amount is subject to a gateway usage fee of €19.95"

    Now I'm guessing here but I suspect that I am being branded a 'commercial' user because my account is linked to Delcampe's Wallet; there's already a per transaction fee being levied so I think it is now time to draw out what little remains of my money and close the account

    Such a shame it didn't catch on as much as PayPal, but I fear it was a case of 'too little too late'

    Having noticed your post, I've just checked my Skrill account, and I don't have any similar debit (yet!), although I've also got my account linked to the Delcampe wallet.
    My Skrill payments continue to drop to almost negligible proportions so if they do try to impose this, that will be the end of my dealings with them!
