I notice that Delcampe has now introduced Mr & Mrs in the contact details.

However, "Mrs Mainlypostcards" just does not look right.

Equally this is open to mistakes for 2 reasons.
Not all female members will be Mrs, some will be Miss
If the member has not ticked the genre box, females will have the Mr prefix, i.e. I made a sale yesterday to someone called Mr. Pamela Xxxxx - I don't think so!

The reason I didn't mention the "Ms" was because I wasn't sure if it was ms or mz, but I did think about it................lol (what's more, I actually thought of you as I was typing my post!)

I had the exact same gender problem this morning.

The issue is even worse when 95% of your customers are European as mine are. I still get Mr and Mrs appearing on my invoices when at the very least I want M/Mme, Frau, Herr .. etc etc.

I take the time to use the customers native language when putting a thank you note on their invoice but I can't change or remove the Mr or Mrs title, which looks really bad.

I don't like changes on websites full stop. One tends to get used to the look and feel of a website and over the years we've had to adapt to a number of changes. Fair enough, as the site has to remain "up to date", but when we still suffer from various problems, what was the point in fidgeting with something minor like that and actually break it.

Giselle, personally I don't mind Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms in front of the name of a non-English speaking customer, as long as it's actually correct. The point is, that it's not correct. Not all females are Mrs. (btw, your feedback score is going up nicely; still happy here?)

I agree, some of the changes are rather pointless and at times just plain unhelpful - others (to me at least) are really welcome - like the upgrade to the editor on the input form - but just aren't tested properly before being applied to the live system.

To be honest I'd rather they devoted more time to making the site more indexable for google (compared to e**y its terrible) and more stable in terms of its availability.

Overal though I think Delcampe is a great place to be, it works for me - I just try and accept the 'enhancements' as part of what makes Delcampe, Delcampe.

    And Doctors of various discipline...

BTW, since I have a 'private income' does that make me a 'Gentleman'? I shall start using that as my occupation when I'm filling in forms, and it would look good on my passport

Good morning Mrs Decotiques. We may joke about it, but it is an issue that needs sorting out.

I sold an item to a Belgian lady today by the name of "mevr." xx xx. Whether she actually is a mevr or maybe a mej. is another matter. It seems they have now changed it according to the member's location.

However, my emails still come through as: Dear Mrs Mainlypostcards, The following item has been sold:................

and the issue of mrs ms miss has not been resolved.

I take it that D has no intention to resolve this situation in view of the time lapse since the subject first arose.

Firstly it is just dreadful English (& presumably pretty awful in all the other languages supported too) and makes the seller (& Delcampe) look very unprofessional to any new buyer not used to the D idiosyncrasies..

If Delcampe are simply unable to rectify the Mre/Miss titles, could they not permit sellers to adjust the name area of the invoice address bar? I don't mind if D choose to email me as Mr Emmbersplace......I suppose they think that Mr Google or Mr Miss Microsoft is correct too? Well.....bad news, guys

This was, in my opinion, one of the least sensible enhancements made to the site & pretty poorly thought out.
