Bonus System

    Well I have given this a good try out and many of my customers have made good use of the discount I have offered. BUT I have also been given a good few headaches trying to sort out customers who have tried and failed to use their bonuses. For me this has become too time intensive for me to administrate. My last customer with problems was the last straw for me so I have now disabled the discount I was offering.

    I have no idea what the problems are - misunderstandings, faults within the system or whatever but too high a percentage of my customers have had problems and as said I no longer have the time to nursemaid them through the system. A shame really as it is a good concept and it did generate (or at least did for me) extra business and higher spending.

    It would be interesting to learn what others experiences have been. When I have more time and patience I may re-activate the bonus again.

    You have certainly given it a very good go.

    I gave up on it after about 3 months, because I found it too awkward.

    As you say, it's a very nice concept, but rather user unfriendly.

    As a seller I have no idea what is causing the problems. It is the buyers who are experiencing the difficulties and I do not know what is causing the problems from their point of view.

    Maybe one should ask the buyers who have experienced the problems as the last one who had problems claiming his bonus with me. As a seller I really do not have the time to try and talk my customers through the system when I do not understand it from the buyers point of view.

    From what I surmise from those with the problems is that they try and pay without using the Delcampe wallet system and expect the discount to automatically apply to such payments. The last one told me he tried to pay through the Wallet system and had problems (a load of cobblers as he paid me directly through Moneybookers without using the wallet)!

    Perhaps it should be made very clear that buyers only get their discount if they use the E-Wallet system of payment through Delcampe (if it is'nt already?). I have also had buyers complaining bitterly they cannot use their discount after the period to use it has expired - one after 14 weeks! I politely tell them to take a 'running jump' with a link to the terms and conditions of the discount. As stated before it is administering the system from a sellers point of view that is (to me) tedious and time wasting.
