Question about USA zip codes

    Are the state letters in the zip code essential?
    Quite often I find they do not appear on the Delcampe address and I always check the Paypal payment to add them.
    Is this necessary or do some of the numbers (i.e. the first or last 2) anyhow indicate the state?

    Accordng to that you should not have to put the state letters before the code, as the first number(s) indicate what state it is.

    However, I've always seen the letters as part of the code and would like to hear the opinion of one of the American members.

    Yes, I always use State Abbreviation followed by Zip Code as this seems to be the norm on addresses I've seen displayed
