    Hello there.

I started to use Lister but I got problems with CSV delimiter.

I have item descriptions in an external database that includes some HTML formated text. Some HTML tags include semicolon this is a problem with CSV format.

I guess that in this case I should enclose all text with quotes but I got no succes with that.

Someone can haelp me in one of this ways
1 - change CSV delimiter to other character (p.e. pipe)
2 - how to do to include delimiter character inide a text field

    Thanks in advance

Hi. I still have this problem and I'm looking for a correct
solution, meanwhile I bypassed this problem with a small program
that changes semicolon character (;) after import (I know that is a
dangerous and not polite way to solve it). It seems that Lister
don't follow CSV file especifications (or perhaps it could be a
national character problem) because in a CSV file any character can
appear if all field is surrounded by quotes. I started a new item
from scratch and I wrote semicolon characters in description field.
Afterwards I exported it to a CSV and .... surprise!, Lister
changed semicolon characters to commas (??). Lister recognices this
character in export function but I couldn't find the way to do it
in an import function. I still waiting for help. Montcau

Do they show in your "My Delcampe"?
There has been a delay these last few days with items appearing in your store.
If they are visible in your control panel, they will appear in your store withing the next hour or so.

    Hello Noernberg.
Thanks for information included, unfortunately I still have this problem active. "List separator" is set to semicolon. With your response you have opened a new point of view that I can explore, just a question.

Does your source data contains semicolons? (your data on Excel). My source data does.

    Thanks

    Hi noernberg.

In my text I have (a few) formated html tags that need semicolons. I haven't do the execise of remove them because my first option is to keep the text as is (suitable for other uses). I use an 'had oc' program to convert Delcampe repository before send it.

In Lister version 2, repository is an XML Document and correction is quite easy, in current version repository is a tiny SQL database and it will requiere another solution.

Looking forward your solution (simplyfiing text) is the most stable and valuable.

    Thansk again
