Message To Sebastien - Appalling Treatment By Delcampe

    Sebastien.. I am writing to you directly in the forums (so others can read events too) in the hope you can please help me.

    My name is Stephanie White and I am the British Transsexual owner of Crown Collectables – I have been treated with absolute disgust by your site and I would be grateful if you can please investigate.

    Strange things happened to me when your team found out I was a transsexual. Firstly my sales plummeted on Delcampe. I believe you use new best match technology to choose whose items are top and bottom of search. I know sales had have dropped for everyone which I accept but mine fell into oblivion, as though I had suddenly been turned off.

    Then Miranda told me I was not a gold member so could no longer use your bulk listing tools on the new website – I have always been a gold member. I kept telling Miranda I was fully paid gold and she kept disputing saying I wasn’t and thus couldn’t use the bulk listing tools anymore. Finally she wrote apologizing for her error.

    I then wrote asking why my sales had dropped– Miranda replied that it was due to the new style website and everyones sales were down – Then in a very strange coincidence a few days later (Dec 1st) after sending my email about sales dropping I found my account closed down. It was reinstated 24 hours later. No reply was given to my email asking why it had been suspended. It seems someone in Delcampe was very angry towards me.

    On Jan 1st I wrote to Delcampe asking if I could please use the API technology to list my 23,000 items again and amalgamate my website with your site. I received no response.

    On Jan 1st I also wrote to Delcampe asking for help with the Bulk Lister – It appeared someone on your site had blocked me being able to use this again. Again I received no answer.

    For four days I have written four times to Miranda asking her to reply why I am blocked from using your lister – She has ignored my emails now incl the API a total of FIVE TIMES. Yet you are all back at work at Delcampe and receiving and responding – I can see in the forums.

    I am asking 1) Someone can please contact me to use the API technology to list my items on the site 2) Help me with the bulk lister & the Excel files which is not letting me use its technology – or explain why I am blocked.

    Sebastien – You have the greatest postcard site on the web. But you cannot allow your staff to treat people this way.

    Please can you get someone to contact me to get these issues resolved and to help me with the listing tools.

    If I get no response I am creating an online petition at what has happened to me and getting the world to read and decide in a vote against your treatment to me – It is very hard earning money when you are transsexual and this is no way to treat a fellow postcard dealer who is doing everything possible to try and support your website.

    I am sorry, but I do not see what your sexual orientation has got to do with any of this.

    You only need to have a look through the forum to see what a mess it has all been for the last few months, including

    1. Many sellers moaning about lack of sales
    2. Many buyers complaining that the search engine isn't working properly
    3. Several people complaining that Easy Uploader is not available
    4. Multiple down times and/or certain features not working

    I also know that some account information was not correctly transferred to the new website, because I was affected by it on my other account.

    As a result of all of these the customer support team is completely overwhelmed with emails at the moment and instead of getting a reply in 24 to 48 hours, it is taking up to a week or even longer.

    1st of January was New Years day, 2nd of January was a bank holiday - in some countries the day after New Year's day is also a bank holiday. Therefore it is very well possible that yesterday was the first day back at work for some/most of Delcampe staff, some of whom may have been off during the Christmas week. Therefore, there is a backlog of up to 10 days, that they have to plough through.

    As far as the API software is concerned: I can answer that question for you. No, you can not use it. You have to be registered with Delcampe as a professional seller, which you are not.

    As far as the "bulk lister" is concerned:

    If you are referring to the Easy Uploader - I have answered your question in point 3 above and Sebastien made a comment on the forum yesterday, that it will probably be sometime in February before it becomes available again.

    If you are referring to the Delcampe lister, maybe try logging out of it and back in to it.

    I hope this helps and has made you realize that you are not the only one facing problems.

    I would suggest that you take some (considerable) time to review the many hundreds, if not thousands, of posts in various threads in the forums, with complaints about the Delcampe system over the past few months. Even more so if you understand French, the main language of the site owners and majority of sellers. This might give you a better perspective on the frustrations felt by all of these people, and at times I include myself among that number.

    To suggest that the fall off of sales is down to sexual discrimination on the part of Delcampe staff is, in my view, frankly ridiculous. if so, as my sales also fell into oblivion, are you suggesting that Delcampe is discriminating against heterosexual males as well??

    It has not been an easy ride over the last few months, and Delcampe have not always been good at explaining what is going on with the site (sometimes I wonder if they knew themselves :) ) but that is a universal occurence.

    Mainlypostcards has covered the technical aspects of your queries / complaints as far as I can see. if you want API, register as a professional dealer, pay the relevant fees and no doubt it will be made available to you.

    Delcampe DO listen, albeit sometimes it is easy to wonder of that is the case, but they do have a small staff - they are not eBay with thousands of employees, and often change / alter / improve things without broadcasting it, though Miranda does do an occasional round-up of changes made and to be done.

    We all want a better Delcampe and we are not there yet - patience is a virtue!

    I Thoroughly agree with both Mainly and Moonstone, I myself am also Transsexual and also Hetrosexual for that matter, my reaction to the new Delcampe as been pretty negative so far but I'm still here, I notice you seem to have very little listed to sell anyway, that does help you know

    Well nearly 10 days later and no one from Delcampe has helped to get my items live - The Easy Lister isnt working for my account - it appears something mysterious is stopping it recognizing my fully paid gold membership - Message after message asking to use the API service and no response at all (I'm happy to pay any fees as I keep writing and telling them) - Sorry everyone but whether personal or not, such levels of service & deliberate non response from Delcampe are unacceptable. And how can I see it is anything but personal when my account seems blocked by Delcampe from using the easy lister and all Delcampe have to do is reply to an email to help me.

    It has been announced that the easy uploader will not be available until February.

    If you are referring to the Delcampe Lister - this is totally different. You have to be a gold member to use (I'm sure to be corrected if I am wrong). You can download it and play around with it but you can only use it if you qualify.

    You need to make it more clear which tool you refer to!

    You do not - as far as I can see - qualify for using the API.

    All these points can be seen by reading the 'User Guide' which explains - amongst many other things - how you qualify to use the various tools available. Link is at the bottom of each Delcampe page.

    Mainly's post above has already explained most of this already - did you read it?

    As regards Delcampe's response to you it has been pointed out their staff is small so it will take some time to get to your emails particularly as the site is has experienced major problems since the chageover to the new site. Priority is to get this right first so your queries/problems are probably way down on a very long list. The Christmas/New Year holidays has not helped as Delcampe staff take holidays as well.

    To suggest any of this is down to sexual discrimination is so laughable it is not worth commenting on.

    I do qualify for API and just need Delcampe to take their fees for this, and view my business details, which they wont reply to.

    As far as I am aware there are no fees involved to use API, for which you do not qualify, because you are not registered on Delcampe as a professional seller.

    In order to register as a pro seller, you need to provide proof to Delcampe that you are registered with HMRC as a business.

    After you have made that change, you can ask to register for API.

    Like Wycombe, I am still not clear, which upload tool you are referring to, Easy Uploader or Delcampe lister - there is no such thing as "Easy lister".

    If it's the Easy Uploader, I've already explained to you that it is not available until February at the earliest.

    As far as bugs happening on your account only, read the forum posts for the last few months and you will probably find every single bug you have experienced, being mentioned by others.

    I have written to Delcampe regarding the API numerous times each time with no response.. I've offered Revenue documentation, offered to pay them any fees. All emails are completely ignored.

    There is no excuse for keep ingnoring emails and not responding.

    The programme is Delcampe Lister - Please understand there are no other listing tools. I am (& have always been) a gold member and not able to use it - in Mirandas own explanation she found the site not recognizing me as a gold member - She kept telling me I couldnt use the tools because I wasnt a gold member - then she realized I was and discovered it a "bug".

    I really appreciate your reply Mainlypostcards & how some users feels its nothing personal, but if I am the only user being blocked to use these tools without continued explanation, then that IS personal.

    And there is no excuse not to correspond or keep ingnoring pleas for help. I'm trying to support the site with my 25,000 inventory.

    If you have been in contact with Miranda or any other member of Delcampe directly then contact them directly using their email details. Also try contact through the Delcampe Facebook page or any of the other social media sites used.
