    Hello...

Perhaps someone could tell with some certainty if soldiers on this postcard are prisoners or prison camp staff.

Postcards shows a scene from WWI prison camp in Japan.

Perhaps someone can tell by military uniforms wherer they are English, German, French or some other.

I see that one of these soldiers wears some kind of sword, so this might be a hint that these arent actually prisoners.

    Any idea?

    Thank you...

That was also my initial conclusion (I even put it on sale with that kind of description), but then I saw that one of officers is wearing a sword. To let a prisoner carry a weapon is not something that would be allowed these days.

Perhaps it was normal back then?

    So:

Are you certain about this? Can you confirm that their uniforms are German?

    Regards....

    Indeed...

    That sounds reasonable.

Hat and trousers are different and that might be Japanese soldier checking arrived packages.

    Grazie mille... :wink2:
