    I have been a member since 2007 and have nearly 200 postcards sent
    and received; the distance travelled is just under 1,000,000 miles.
    I can vouch that Postcrossing is a fun thing to try and I certainly
    get many interesting stamps in return. I have even met some people
    I consider friends with whom I keep in (semi-) regular contact.
    there is now the option to send and receive postcards from within
    one's own country which may help some (Int'l postcard rate from
    US= 98 cents; domestic postcard rate= 28 cents).
