25euro levy?

    Hi
I am a private COLLECTOR of the past 60 years. I am relatively new to Delcampe. I have 1 specific topic I collect.
I have read the "forum " regarding this levy but still need further clarification.
I live in the UK and 99.9% of my purchases are from EÙ countries.

1..If I continue to buy from EU countries will the levy apply?

2...If the price of one stamp (needed to complete a set) is a matter of pence will the 25euro levy still be applied?

I apologise for my "basic " questions but I would not want to jepodise my Delcampe membership without a full understanding of the proposed 25euro levy.

    Thanks.

    hello
yes, the price tag will be EUR25 for any order below EUR150 made to a pro seller
So if you buy to an individual based in France or GErmany, you will only pay for the item plus relevant fees (postage, etc), but not for the EUR25 'tax'

Thanks for your reply..I think I understand a bit more now.
BUT surely this is a real negative action when anyone buys from a "professional dealer "
I must be more diligent when making any further purchases.

Yes - I think this is a disgraceful move by Delcampe, both to their sellers and to the UK buyers. I for one will be immediately closing my account as to surcharge 25 Euros for a single item purchase is ridiculous / a scam / worse than a bad joke.

I currently have a "watching " list and a "cart" list of items I would have been thinking of buying.
Unfortunately I must delete all professional traders...the 25euro levy is too expensive especially when buying a single low value item.
I am well aware of the situation regarding "tax" (we all are)..its so disappointing for a new member like myself to be faced with a "new" highly contentious tax.
I should also mention that all of my previous purchases, from private and professional traders have been excellent without fault...but I will now consider using a different website for my purchases.
