    Can anyone give me the benefit of some advice? I know nothing about philately, but in an auction lot of postcards I bought recently, I found a mint collection of stamped envelopes - first edition and inauguration - of all the USA Presidents. From what I can see on Delcampe, most are fairly commonplace, but some, I can't reference at all.

    So... can you point me to any guide books or sites? Are there any which are rare, or sought after?

    I guess I should go to my local philately club, but I'd like a little background first, so I don't feel an utter plank.

    The American Philatelic Society have a website which might well be a good place to start

    If the "some" just refers to very few items, maybe add some pictures to this thread and you may get some info here

    I've checked this collection and there seems to be something representing each of the US presidents, chronologically. I'll add 3 more examples in next post.

    There are another 18 similar items, ranging from Ulysees Grant and Sam Houston through to Kennedy and Clinton.
