I feel depressed with the sad news of cajun and I hope he will make a good recovery soon.

Somehow, the forum seems empty without his continuous, often humorous input, but on the other hand, knowing cajun, I am sure he would want us to carry on as usual.

Who's going to be the first one to put a smile (if not a big grin) on our faces?

No Carol, that definitely didn't cheer me up.

I must confess that most of my shopping gets done online. Luckily we have only a very small family and most years it's relatively easy to get suitable gifts for everyone. The 2 most difficult ones are probably my niece and nephew (13 and 11), too old for toys now. I suppose I'll have to consult their mum to see if there's anything I can get for one of their hobbies.

Poor wife - who could not help laughing at such a sight? ::wink2:

Hammacks are dangerous things. We used to have one hanging between 2 mango trees and one day a mango landed on my head.

No hammock, but we have a trampoline on the lawn

Last winter after several days snow I looked out and was horrified to see the mat had sagged almost to the ground - cue a snowball fight against my daughter to clear all the snow off!

We cunningly tipped it onto its side after that to keep it clear

tbh, don't think I'd fancy a hammock with our climate - except maybe for a couple of days in the highth (sp?) of summer.
I have a sloping lawn, therefore toys have always been a problem. When the kids were small I used to have just about enough flat space to have a very small paddling pool.

I hope Mrs Eafb has recovered from the jaw and tummy pains after her laughing fit :wink2:

Mrs xtf came close to being excommunicated from the family during the summer - we had one of those low-slung beach/camping chairs with a tubular metal frame and canvas seat. I sat on it one day and felt myself slowly sagging backwards, thinking I was sinking into the sand but no, the frame was slowly bending leaving me wallowing like a tortoise on its back amidst gales of laughter from everyone else

    Ha ha indeed
