How does a fee on sold items reduce the number of 'junk' items--over-priced, common, damaged--which have not sold, do not sell, will not ever sell?

I totally agree with your comments. Delcampe need to seriously get a grip (prendre le taureau par les cornes) on their site and do what needs to be done.

Although I'm not in competition with sellers of 5 cents and 10 cents stamps, I understand the frustration of buyers having to search through mountains of identical stamps.

I have suggested to Delcampe to exempt Gold club members from the extra
18 cents surcharge to each lot sold. I hope they will take my suggestion into
consideration. At 60,00 $ a year (5,00 $ a month) with 1000 items in my store, that would be half a cent a month per lot, less if I have more in my store.

I have noticed that some buyers are so used to buying at extremely low prices that I regularly get buyers offering to buy at half my listed prices, which are already very reasonable.

Collecting is a hobby. Selling is not.

Sorry I'm not agree with you,but not going to argue as eveybody has his own point of view.
What is really suprise me,that you have less than 10 feedback for 2012.So it looks like new fees not going to hurt you much.
Also if you like listing fees, why do not use ebay ?

Delcampe need to do a lot of work in order to have a better, more pleasant site for buyer's searches.

The problem is there are no listing fees, thus encouraging the listing of hundreds of thousands if not millions of cheap stamps.

    One example: Sale of 6 stamps, total 0,18 € (4 x 0.02 + 1 x .06 + 1 x .04)
    Selling commission for Delcampe 5,5% = .0099 €

    Another: sale of 3 stamps, total 0,30 € - commission for Delcampe: .0165 €
I understand perfectly that Delcampe cannot operate under those conditions.

What is the solution? Obviously, having a selling surcharge of 0,15 € per item will have no effect if the article does not sell.

Could a small monthly listing fee (0,02 € per item) together with a minimum selling price of 0,10 € have the desired effect?

Having the possibility to relist 99 x 28 should be removed. That's almost 8 years.

A store owner who has not visited or added to his store in 6 months should be contacted to find out what his intentions are.

I could go on and on.

Here is what I wrote, to reduce the listing of the huge quantity of cheap items that have no hope of ever selling:

Obviously, having a selling surcharge of 0,15 € per item will have no effect if the article does not sell.

Could a small monthly listing fee (0,02 € per item) together with a minimum selling price of 0,10 € have the desired effect?
(Which is to unclutter the site.I don't beleive so.)

There are thousands and thousands of stamps with a selling price of
    0,02 0,03 and 0.05 € cluttering up the site.
Will sellers want to pay a 0,02 € monthly fee to sell a 0,02 or 0,05 € stamp? The answer is quite obvious.

Someone mentionned a listing fee of 0,01 € a month. For a stamps priced at 0,03 € that does not sell, that would mean 0,12 € at the end of the year. Let the sellers do the math.

How about abuser who list expensive items ?
A tiny listing fee will not resolve a problem.
Have just reported one ,not 1st time by the way.
Thee is a seller who sells mostly postcards on Delcampe ,Ebay and other sites. He has some rare postcards ,as well as a lot of common cards.Everything is hugely overpriced (5-10 times more than similar items everywhere) a lot of duplicate listings maybe even up to half of his stock on Delcampe (about 100.000!!! cards)
.He has not only dulicate listing on Delcampe, but as well as on ebay (where he has under different names and from different countries) and other auction.
I can see the same card on at least 3 online auctions and with duplicate listing most of cards on 5 or more auctions in the same time.
Not sure how he deals, when two people buying the same card on different auction, but it's not probably happening much thanks to his prices.
Do you really think, that such a person would care much about tiny listing fee ?
Probably not.The problem is that Delcampe is not doing much about such sellers, even after reports.
In my opinion introduction of fixed fee is a huge mistake,as it will not solve the problems but just add to cost of selling. Also it's driving many sellers and buyers away.Fixed fee for items sold under $10.00 should be eliminated.D. can also add a bit to FVF is they need more $ to run a site.
Anyway,as for now,I think there is nothing to discuss as damage is already done.
Also it looks like just a beginning and more "good' changes will come.
In the same time many problems will be no resolved.
