New version of delcampe.com

We are more than 90 members today on Lien (http) . Thanks to all of you. Your presence and encouragements on the forums help me every day to improve this site.

The main theme of this message is the new version of the site.

When I launched the site on October, I really didn’t know how it will work. I’m surprised and happy to see you are always more numerous and faithful!

It is the reason why I’m preparing a site more ‘professional’. I really want to add some powerful features to improve our comfort. Ie: A faster display of the pages (some are slow when you ask a long list with pictures).

These are the main improved elements
- The speed when a page is displayed.
- Dutch support (used by numerous members). If some of our Dutch members can accept correcting the texts, would really help me.
- Conception of an online help.
- A global improvement of the display. Our members who use Mac have some difficulties to read the site. If it is your case, don’t hesitate to explain me where do these problems happen (a emailed scan would be welcome)
- A total integration of the forums. The forum’s program is not mine. I have just modified it to fit the site. The new ones will be more stable and you will be able to add pictures to your messages. It is easier when you ask a question about a well defined stamp.
- Global use of the site will be improved. It will be easier than ever!
- Email sending is actually uniquely in English. It will then be done regarding the language you prefer (English, French, Dutch)
- Money converting will be better handled
- Conception of the site will allow many quick updates.
- Secured transactions. (A certificate cost more than 100Eur. (+-100$), click on the banners and I will have enough to buy one! )

Your proposition is very fine. You will indeed be helpful ;o)

The new site is nearly ready (still two or three weeks)

You can choose how to help me:
1°) I send you a list of all the terms used in the site and you translate those words.
2°) I try to translate myself and you correct any mistake. I'll then let the new site turn on a test server (to try all possible errors). I'll give you the address of this server as soon as it will be ready.
My dutch is quite bad but I'll do all what's possible to make the site comfortable for my Dutch Friends (as you ;o) )
