Whist you can search for new items within, let's say, 1 days - it's not strictly true - as it also shows items that have been re-listed during that period and re-appear in the 'new' listing as new items.

Well, these are OLD items and therefore not NEW - please adjust.

err - what is a NEW about an item that has been listed for SIX years or more! ........ if I search for new items in a category, that is what I want to view - not OLD and RE-LISTED items that have been seen time and time again............... yawn

I think an item appears as "new", if the seller has made a change to the original listing, i.e. reduced the price, added an image, changed it into a different category, etc.
