    Hello Artisanuk,

The search engine is working correctly. It seems you have made a mistake when in the title of your sale. Your title says "Casama" and not "Casamar" so it's normal that you do not see your sale when performing a search for "Casamar".

You can modify the title of your sale by clicking on "Modify this sale" at the top of the item page.

    Regards,

    Dimitri from the Delcampe Team

I'm having problems with the search too.

I'm looking for good quality, inexpensive stamps for my collection which is what I joined the site for. Always plenty of low priced stamps to buy (yes, there is the dross as well - they should perhaps have a filter in the search to get rid of them?) - but it's a great site for the "small" collector or for filling those gaps with stamps which, whilst may not be highly catalogued, can be just as elusive as "expensive" items. New issues as well - we all want to keep our collection up to date and can pick up the latest issues here for a few pence.

This is what makes this site great and where everyone comes to for such items.

A few days ago, there were thousands of these items in all different categories that came up in the search but they seem to have disappeared. Surely they can't all have been sold?

Is the search not working properly or have I missed something?

I'm glad my line isn't stamps.

All I can say is that I feel sorry for the stamp dealers who were playing fair game who have been penalized by this latest announcement.

Mind you, although (at least on the English forum), it's been the stamp dealers that have been complaining the loudest there are of course the tea/cigarette/panini cards, etc, which are low value items. Any sellers specializing in these and offering them as individual items will also be hit hard by this fee change.

I think the reason why stamp dealers have been the most vociferous so far is because the selling price that stamps are/can be listed for by (most) sellers are ruled by the catalogue values as determined by the main catalogue publishers - SG, Scott, Michel, Y&T etc.

The prices quoted in those catalogues (which can also vary quite a lot between publishers) are what buyers look at when assessing the value of a stamp and whether a stamp is good value at the selling price.

As mentioned in my post above (and in my posts on other threads so apologies for repeating myself here), some of the stamps that are catalogued at £0.10 by SG are nigh impossible to be found singly and it's great that some can actually be found on this site. There have been many occasions where a member has bought just one stamp at 2p or 3p & quite happy to pay P&P charges on top to get a stamp that they really want.

In the main, members always expect to buy stamps at a fraction of the catalogue price and I usually list stamps at one-fifth SG cat. So for a 10p catalogue value, I list at 2p. Sometimes that doesn't reflect the actual value of the stamp but that is the buyer's perceived value of such stamps.

I've sold thousands of these low priced stamps because that is what members want. Every so often, a member will visit my store & totally scour all categories for such stamps.

Getting to the main point of my response & sorry it's taken so long(!)........

It would be difficult to add 8p/12p to the price of those stamps because of the psychological effect on members not getting a discount on catalogue value.

With other items such as postcards (which I also sell), there is no catalogue value for these items and this time it is the sellers perceived value that determines the price which the buyer may or may not accept. Adding 8p/12p to the selling price of a postcard would go virtually unnoticed.

Marianne - regarding tea/cigarette cards etc, these aren't my fields so do not know whether there are catalogues for these item or not but if they are only of low value and cannot be increased by the 8p/12p, I can sympathise with you and other sellers of such items.

(To plagiarize Muleskinner from another thread) - that's my two penny worth - or 10p after fees!
