    Earlier this evening I placed a last minute bid on an UK auction.

    About 10 minutes later the following message landed in my inbox from the underbidder:

    "Hello Mainlypostcards,
    what I cannot make out is how you won this card and the auction is not supposed to close till 19-18 pm,weird "

    Apart from the fact that it is a mild irritation, this raises the following questions.

    Would this person have outbid me? If so, the seller did not realize the full value for his item, because the bidder thought he had still an hour to go!
