Another great change from Delcampe ... no doubt they'll try to outdo February with some more nonsense in March.

Yes, I too use this feature ... notably when listings run their course and are closed and appear in 'Closed No Bid'. I quite often want to change the text but the actual scan is exactly the same. You can only change the text by using the 'Sell a similar item' facility, you can't do it under 'Restart sale'.

So yet another great feature disappears without any notice or reason!

    Give me strength.

The link didn't work for me. Did you add it correctly?

Anyhow I have reported this as an error.

I am hoping that it is not another useful, time saving feature that gets withdrawn because Delcampe don't understand how its sellers use the site!

I'll let everyone know if I get an answer ... it would help if others also report this anomaly as an error too.

OK,it's not an error. This option was very good for me and for other, much better than simple restaring.I have a lot of sales thanks to this option.
I think, that people complained not because of small sellers as me ,but because if big dealers.
I found it's pretty annoying, that some postcard dealers were listed the same 10.000's of postcards every 7 days, week after week.
A problem is,that not long ago Delcampe allowed to transfer items from other sites,so some big sharks simply flooded Delcampe with huge number of postcards
It was not a best move by Delcampe,as few big dealers ( there are just few of them) simply abuse Delcampe's space.
So all Delcampe community suffer just because of few dealers.

I'm pretty sure, that my sales will go down, thanks to new changes.

On checking my re-listed items I also noticed my images are not there.

What a pain - some of my items are multiple stock which are simply re-listed once an item has sold. This will now become a time consuming chore to re-scan the item and replace the image.

Delcampe seem determined to disgruntle sellers further and further as there seems to be no announcement about this!!

Finding out about these things by accident is not good enough. Yet more time consuming tedium re-checking re-listed items, locating and re-scanning them.

Surely when such changes impinge apon sellers they should be informed about the change BEFORE it happens so you can alter your selling strategy accordingly. To find out accidentally about a MAJOR change after it has been implemented really is bad manners. At least Ebay used to announce when such changes were to happen and be implemented. Here on Delcampe such things seem to take place now in a very arbitrary and ad hoc way.

The fees Delcampe receive come from sellers so making their lives more and more difficult can hardly be a satisfactory business model. I have, until recently, been very happy with the Delcampe model of both buying and selling. Changes are not a bad thing - one has to move with the times - but surely it is not beyond the sites administrators to announce in advance on all its constituent sites (in thats sites language) of changes that are to take place and when. All the recent changes have been both frustrating and time consuming with little, if any, advance notice they were to happen. How many others are going to notice 'accidentally' their images are missing on re-listed items? Unless they access this forum they are not going to realise it is a site instigated thing and not a fault with their computer et al .. Time wasted trying to sort it all out and more frustration and anger!

The point I wish to reemphasise is that if an item has listed 99 times and is unsold you need to consider making some changes rather than just restart the listing e.g. to price, category location etc.. You can no longer do this as Restart just does what it says 'restarts the item'. It does not allow any changes. However, using the 'sell similar' option enables you to make some adjustments ... and the original scan was there.

Also for relisting items already sold e.g. mint stamps it was very easy.

I am becoming very frustated with the changes that creep into Delcampe's site without warning. The disruption it causes is often immense.

I have reported this change as an error and I suggest others do so too.

Once again Delcampe make a change without consdiering the ramifications to all its sellers + I don't believe Delcampe has any idea how its Sellers use the site.

I am sorry but this seems to be something to do with the Postcard area. If there are sellers abusing the system in a big way they must be easy to identify so target them specifically!

I don't agree that this change is needed or I'd obviously rather that some better solution could have been found.

Nothing ever gets pre-announced on Delcampe - their actions are arrogant and unprofessional in my opinion.

Looks like 200+ items I was hoping to re-list at the weekend won't get done now! :pc_user3:

With respect these re-list items are 'new' for all intents and purposes. One item has been sold and I am listing another that I have in stock - they are mint and therefore the same. What's the problem with that being treated as 'new'?

These 're-listings' will still happen but what I now have to do is rescan the images!
This is therefore a 'nonsense' wasting me valuable time.

And with regards to 'old' items being re-listed I've found that these often re-sell as soon as they are re-listed as new with some adjustment to price etc.. Net, there is a genuine case for them being treated as 'new'.

If there's a problem / advantage gained by sellers re-listing after a week then that is quite a different issue and should be addressed as such.

Off for a cuppa now before I get too stressed.

Well the panic is over ... the problem has either been fixed or the function re-instated whichever way you want to look at it.

Either way - thank you Delcampe.

This has saved me an immense amount of time ... and in fact the work I had intended for the weekend I've now managed to accomplish this afternoon ... so I'll have time for gardening and watching the rugby. :applause:

I did note that restarting a 'Closed no bid' item allows you to modify the listing after you've actually restarted it. This is a little illogical but works fine. I'm unsure whether this is a recent change or something I've just overlooked in the past. Either way the restarted listing appears as 'New'.

Anyhow, all in all a pleasant end to the week.

I've just noticed on a re-listed item the image is back. Many of my unmounted mint stamp items I have multiple stocks of and I re-list a new item once one sells - the scan to all intents and purposes are exactly the same. So my thanks to whoever reactivated including the original scan again.

I was having visions of having to restructure the way I listed and re-listed items. Now it appears there is no need!

    What's next?!!!!

    Thanks for the link.

    I'm totally bemused as usual.

They seem to have done a U-Turn which I am thankful for because the image now appears again.

Maybe it's different in the Postcard section but when selling stamps (mint) as a previous contributor to this thread commented you don't really need to scan a new image every time. The stock feature to show a multiple of a particular stamp only works if you have the multiple at the time of listing. However, in practice you tend to acquire new stock of an item over time ... it isn't practical to go an update a listing with the latest quantity. Hence retaining the image is important to Stamp sellers.
