Can anyone enlighten me to the philatelic meaning of the German phrase 'mit Durchstich' in relation to the first stamp issue of Israel depicting coins issued in 1948. The literal translation according to Google is 'with piercing'. The stamps are not perfinned or pierced in any way.

Many thanks to anyone who can help - maybe with what Michel has to say!
