Banknote Grading Scale
UNC (Uncirculated):
Perfect note. Clean, crisp paper, no handling, sharp corners. Full original luster.
AU (About Uncirculated):
Near perfect. May show a light fold or counting marks. No creases. Paper is clean and lustrous.
EF / XF (Extremely Fine):
Very clean with minimal handling. Up to 3 light folds or 1 heavy crease. Paper retains luster.
VF (Very Fine):
Attractive with signs of circulation. Several folds possible. Paper still firm. Minor edge wear, no tears.
F (Fine):
Clearly circulated with many folds and creases. Paper is not firm, but still complete. Minor edge tears allowed.
VG (Very Good):
Well-used but intact. Rounded corners, possible small tears into design, discoloration or stains. Soft paper.
G (Good):
Heavily circulated. Folds, tears, holes, dirt, and discoloration common. Still a complete note.
FR (Fair):
Very worn. May have missing pieces, heavy tears, and major dirt. Usually collected as a filler.
PR (Poor):
Damaged note with major defects — tears, tape, missing sections. Only for filler or rare items.
