I have just received the following email from one of my customers:

    Hello Mainlypostcards,
Sorry.I tried to pay your request but your link for PayPal payment is broken.
Please send me your PayPal adress I´ll try to pay .

I know this was an issue a few weeks ago, but I can't find the relevant thread.

I assumed the problem had been resolved, as there hadn't been any further complaints, but this is obviously not the case.

Delcampe has become an opportunist by referring / suggesting that all works on the new site. Make your PAYPAL payments via the new web site. As I raised in another point in this thread PAYPAL payments through the new site have issues too for sellers. There's no winning. And I don't think using the new site is a good solution for customers at the moment as they will find some settings get changed unexpectedly. What a mess.:dunno:

And I should have added that not all my customers have been affected as some are still paying via the 'old' system. I wonder what causes this problem for some and not others?

    Yes....its all very strange.

Only 1 of my buyers was affected by the glitch recently...and....mmm...seems that they had tried to pay via the new site.

Fortunately, sales are still quite low at the moment so, for me, the problem will have only limited impact!

Here's another complaint ... the 'new' system doesn't interface with PAYPAL correctly. The information about amount appears to be correct but the details of each transaction does not get fed through to PAYPAL. Net, the PAYPAL payment advice only shows the amount and no longer all the purchased items.
Payments made through the 'old' system come through fine.

As usual the Delcampe payment advice is formatted badly.

Although we have been notified that all the problems with delcampe/paypal have been resolved I have just received a pay pal payment with no details al all of the items sold, so it would appear the problem still exists.

That is a problem specifically with the new system. I have raised this with Dimitri and provided an example in either this thread or another.

The issue that does appear to have been resolved is that ALL customers can now settle via the 'old' or 'new' system without a problem.

This problem of getting pay pal statements with no details of the item sold still exists. Have had 2 today, whis is both annoying and time wasting in having to go back into Delcampe to find what the payment refers to. This matter was reported some time ago. Is anything being done about it ??. Yet another problem caused by the 'new' site. payments from sales on the old site are o.k.

    Hello Mainly,

We've seen similar complaints, but have not been able to reproduce them, so at this time we can't be sure of it's a PayPal or Delcampe issue.

Could you please tell me your buyer's nickname so we can get in touch with him? Ideally we'd need to see to e-mail and hyperlink he received.

    Thank you in advance!

Although currently in Kuwait and have been so for several weeks now I have been keeping a beady eye on the forum.

I am most surprised that this Paypal payment problem has not been resolved as it was first aired well over a month ago.

As I currently have no live listings of items for sale I have been using a Galaxy notepad to visit and explore Delcampe.

What surprises me is that after all the much heralded introduction of the new site in what appears a considerable time ago now it is still not up and running independent of the old site which one has no option but to revert to if one wishes to use the forum.

I cannot comment as to lack of business as I currently have nothing for sale but I believe this two site affair must be costing sales.

A couple of friends here who are not Internet auction site afficianados found thecwhole affair too cumbersome to bother with. If this is the case generally I cannot see how Delcampe can attract new buyers.

Before I left for Kuwait most of my customers were established ones or old clients from places like eBay. I suppose some were fresh customers but will well over 100,000 listings these seemed few abd far between.

Apologies for any typos - due to my unfsmiliarity using a mobile for accessing the internet and this forum.

The bit you missed is that Delcampe fixed the PAYPAL problem which only applied to users of the old site and not all of them either. However, the problem seems to have surfaced again. Like so many issues on Delcampe - they get fixed and then come back again! And yes the unpredictability of the site must logically be costing sales.

Couldn't agree more. My sales are OK, but virtually all to repeat buyers or at least others who are established on Delcampe, albeit new to me. I couldn't say when I last had a sale to a 'new or newish member'.

Problems like this only serve to put people off - I can understand this happening to a new member who will give up immediately to avoid the hassle of contacting the buyer and getting their Paypal email address in order to make a payment.

Even established members get in touch and say - 'it's YOUR fault, YOUR Paypal link isn't working, Delcampe or Paypal don't get any mention of being at fault.

The new site should be withdrawn and worked on in the background until complete, with whatever 'bells and whistles' are to go into it, and then launched, this neither one thing or the other is frustrating and as you say, offputting.

This morning I have 2 payments from US buyers.
Both payments were direct via Paypal, and 1 of the buyers write me, that he was unable to pay via Delcampe Wallet.
I have just looked at all my Paypal payments received for the last couple of months.
It seems that more and more of the Paypal payments are direct via Paypal, but I have only got this one buyer telling me, that he was unable to pay me via Delcampe Wallet, but I can see that a lot of my buyers have maked 2-3 failed payment attempts before succeeding with the payment, so I think that this must bhe "the never ending Story"

Is this by any chance payment for a large order (i.e. multiple items)?

All the failures I've had have involved 10+ items.

As some of you know, I also sell on another website. I received their newsletter today and one of the paragraphs covered this very same issue.

They too have been having problems with failed paypal transactions, but all involving multiple orders.

I've sent the relevant text to Dimitri.

If that is the issue, it's Paypal's new interface to blame and not Delcampe.

The other site I am talking about, have managed a temporary fix and have contacted paypal about it.

If Delcampe has done something similar to try and overcome the issue, maybe it doesn't work in all instances.

I just looked back, last 2 weeks, the couple of failed payments were for multiple purchases, But other multiple purchase invoices were paid OK without problem. So it seems random!

Also I looked at the failed ones earlier in the month, and they were single and multiple purchase orders. There wasn't a pattern

It seems more customers are having problems settling via PAYPAL today!
It wouldn't be so bad if the documentation originating from the new site wasn't so bad as well.

    And so the challenges continue.

I have one customer who made a direct paypal payment - presumably because he couldn't pay through Delcampe.

And for another one I've only received the Delcampe notification and nothing from Paypal, but unlike yours, the notification is from the old site.
