    Hello folks,
here's an 'interesting' development in e-mail.....:znaika:

I have made a banner to fit on the bottom of my e-mails which Delcampe provide so customers can click it and go to this site, I'm sure most of you will know what I mean?
    DON'T USE IT! :cop:

This is no reflection on Delcampe BUT after much investigation, and to keep this short, I found some of my mail was not going where it was supposed to. Customers and friends were not getting them. :crying:

I assumed their spam guard was taking them out as they were not, generally, coming back as 'un-deliverable'.
    WRONG.:cop:

It appears such ISPs as BT, Yahoo, Hotmail, Comcast, Live (??) (those are the ones I know of) have implimented a 'blanket' policy of banning an ISP if ANY user of that ISP has spammed ANY of their customers (which is bound to happen sooner or later).:pc_user:

The catch is...........they actually DON'T block your e-mail......YOUR ISP does so their customers are not 'Blanket blocked', so to speak.
In their words there's a scoring system and if your OUTGOING e-mail does not 'add up' YOUR SERVER WITH DELETE IT WHEN IT'S SENT!:pc_user2:

Great! It doesn't appear in the recipients spam blocker or their ISP 'freebee' spam blocker because it never gets there! You don't know it didn't arrive as they don't come back and the customer doesn't know you e-mailed them as they don't get it.:angryfire:

I have done tests and it appears it's the 'LOGO' that causes the trouble.
I have sent e-mails with a line of text saying 'visit me on Delcampe etc' within which I have added a hyper link to my Delcamape shop, it works. It's not blocked. I also have a web address/name with a hyper link to my web site in all me e-mails which I add as a signature and that appears ok. :cool2:

So, in conclustion, if you never got a reply or a customer said why didn't you e-mail and you told them you did, with a similar set up.......well actually you didn't!
Why the h*** this isn't made clear by ISP's or even those recieving ISP's above (who presumably also have the same set up) is Farcical!!! But then you're only the customer...........................:shoot:
Hope this is of some help to all of you!
