If it's any help - here is a Spurgin card: Vinculo (http)

I expect it's a different artist. As far as I am aware Fred Spurgin only does military, comic and children.

Salehs' "Guide to Artists' Signatures & Monograms" shows 3 different signatures for him (one of which is the one on the card you show) and 2 other possible signatures that are probably his. The list of topics he covers --- also as given in Saleh's book -- includes Comic; Advertising; Crossword Puzzle; Expostions (Japan-British); Fashion Satire; Greetings; Leap Year; Limericks; Patriotic; Romantic; Seaside; Spooning; General Humour.

He was from Latvia and his real first name (or perhaps a middle name) was Izydor.

Of course, this book could be incorrect but it's likely that this artist had more than one topic and style and many artists used several signatures.

Is the publisher "A&H"? it looks like it could be their 'Seaside' series.

Saleh lists the following Picture Postcard Monthly issues as references with checklists if you have access to those:1986 April (pp 24-5), '86 May (p14) and '86 July (p27) .
J.L. Mashburn's "Artist-Signed Postcard Price Guide" [a standard US price guide/catalog] has many publishers and series listed as Spurgin's, including an interesting Black American series.
