Import by Excel / CSV file - Step 1/7 : Import type and file selection Testing

1. To begin with, we recommend you read our online help and use our Template files that you can download. I selected “online help” and was taken to the Main Topics help screen. I would have expected to be taken to a help on importing files. I found no information under the heading of “Discover the tools and specialised services”.
2. From the “Put on Sale” tab, I selected the “Selling Form” tab and then reselected the “Put on Sale” tab and was returned to Choose the selling method which suits you the best thanks to Delcampe!. This was not the screen I came from, I would have expected to have been taken back to the “Import by Excel / CSV file - Step 1/7 : Import type and file selection” Screen.
3. Import by Excel / CSV file - Step 3/7 : Matching of the columns. We have found the following errors in your file : - Your file does not seem to be valid. Please check in step 1 if you have selected the correct configuration for your file. There is no information on why my file does not seem valid. I have tried both CSV and Excel options in all sorts of combinations and can’t get any further forward. Can provide screen dumps and files tried if required.

Four different files sent via Benjamin from support.

NB: I am using an Apple Mac running OS X 10.6.8.
My version of Excel is 2008. 12.3.6.

The CSV file upload worked, the xls files did not.

4. I uploaded one item and got a message that 23 sales have been inserted as per below.

5. How do I enter a description that contains multiple paragraphs? I am currently getting "Country: GERMANYÊYear: 1922ÊValue: 500 mÊColour: orangeÊWatermark:ÊPerforations:ÊCondition: usedÊPostmark: cdsÊDescription: Official stampÊCatalogued SG O280 at £2.10 SG World Simplified 2013"

6. At step 3, when I now get the error with the xls files and press the Return to step 1 option, I am returned to step 1 and then select the "Delete the current importation and start a new one" and am returned to Delcampe Home page. When I select the link to the Easy Uploader page I still get the message "Warning: The system has detected that you have started an importation."

7. At step 5 the instruction states "Please select your images on your computer by clicking the Add your files button. Once the image(s) selected, the upload to the system will start automatically". However the button is labelled "Add your Images"

I have had a look at the item that I loaded, this presents further problems.

8. The description comes out as:
"Country: GERMANYÊYear: 1922ÊValue: 500 mÊColour: orangeÊWatermark:ÊPerforations:ÊCondition: usedÊPostmark: cdsÊDescription: Official stampÊCatalogued SG O280 at £2.10 SG World Simplified 2013"

9. The image I loaded from my PC is not attached.

10. 22 spurious items were also loaded.
