Hello, I'm not really a collector of Postcards but I have accumalated about 3000 over the years through buying bulk lots of ephemera and I can see the nostalgic attraction, in fact We have visited places just because I have seen them on a card.
I have started to list my postcards as a side to my Cigarette card collection. I have no idea of values, I have just put them all on at a standard price, but advice please Do Collectors prefer postally unused, Unwritten on cards as opposed to postally used with stamps? and how important is it to show the reverse if a card is postally unused? is it enough to say in description unused & with clean back?

Looked at your listing, you might have got it right, personally I don't buy multiviews and the stamp sometimes swings it for me! I look at what other sellers offer cards at but some prices are stupidly high, I'm always surprised at people who (try?) to sell cards at high prices yet don't provide scans of both side! Yet cheap cards you often get 2 scans! I must admit I sort everything at cheapest first! I buy lots from Europe. Hope this helps

There is a value to clean unused cards, but I think being used does not detract from the value it has to me, especially if I can read the message and it has a stamp. I have bought some postcards ONLY for the fact that they've been used and what the subject matter of the message is.
I guess it does take some level of expertise to know what the market values are, but if it's all the same to you to get a modest price for each, then you make some buyers very happy! I just bought one for about 4 Euros that I would have paid 50 for, but that's based on my own personal desire and not really the market value.

I'll take a gander at your listings!
    Cheers!

For selling purposes I find that the older the card the higher the price. Modern and 4x5 Continentals are pretty much low sellers. Sure some will sell, but when buying bulk lots I avoid chromes. Sometimes they are embedded in a lot so I have no choice. I usually batch them to sell them.

I have much better luck with older cards, undivided and divided backs pre-1914 are most desirable and I sell those individually after checking for the same card on the site.

I can be tedious checking each card, but it has its benefits. First I only list cards that no one else has for sale, and at higher prices. Next it gives you an idea of what sells and how much the cards are selling for. Like I said it is tedious, but you also have to have separate boxes for those found (I batch them), one for those that have not been checked, those that have been and need photos, and those checked ready to list.

I think it is worth the effort because you won't waste your time listing a card with 500 of the same for sale and your shoppers will find more they might be interested in without the bloat.

when it comes to series or variations I check them to see if there are any listed, if I find one that isn't I might do the whole series individually regardless of how many are for sale at the time.

After selling for a while you will get a good feeling for what will sell and what won't. I have been selling to the USA for years. Now I have been selling here and it is a different buyer than the USA.. I am still trying to get a feel for what people mostly in Europe are buying. It's trial and error. You know what I mean,

Those are my tips, I hope you find them helpful.

    Cheers
    Kevin
