I might have more luck with this one! Shown is an unused French card of the Victory march in London which took place in 1919, the card shows 3 nurses and a long haired girl(?) What is she doing there? Apparently you can buy a framed enlargement of the photo at an inflated price but there is still no explanation for her presence! Can anyone identify her uniform and medals?

I found this in a blog about the photos of Mary Evans, the photographer of the image in question. it identifies the lady and the young girls in the photo as:
"The Marchioness of Headfort, formerly known to playgoers as Miss Rose (Rosie) Boote of the Gaiety Theatre, London, at her home, Headfort House in Co. Meath with her daughter Lady Millicent Taylour wearing a miniature military uniform."

they are the same people in the photo on the postcard are they not?

    I hope that helps.

I found this by searching for information about the Nurses Parade. I found the image you posted, for sale for crazy money. The sales page identified the photographer as Mary Evans. so I did another search asking who was the decorated girl in the parade photo by Evans. The blog was "above the fold" in the results. the photo I am posting here was on the second page of the blog.

Thanks for that, I'm sure you're right, the girl on the card is wearing a white waterproof covering to her hat, perhaps it was raining, she looks a bit bedraggled! I was hoping that a military buff would identify her medals, but I spose she could have borrowed her fathers and uniform was no problem if you are titled!
    Thanks again

maybe if you do a search on their names you might be able to find out more information. I love playing detective and finding information that might be hard to find. My friends call me all the time "hey what is this he's holding" or who is this person, sometimes "does this person have a warrant" or "have they been arrested" although most of the time they just want me to verify they are who they say they are. I can usually get my man. I'll try to make some time to find out more about our "mystery girl" for you. Can't guarantee but will see what I can dig up.
    Cheers

Someone has tried to identify medals uniform etc, he says: she is wearing a captains uniform denoted by the 3 pips on the sleeve, he wasn't sure about white cover to hat, thought it might be Marines but finds army officers had them as well, not sure about regimental insignia on hat or lapels
    Medals are :
    Distinguished conduct medal
    Military medal
    Queens South Africa medal
    Kings South Africa Medal
    1914 star or 1914-15 star
As the DCM and MM were awarded to other ranks he reckons they can't be her fathers medals. If they were one persons medals it was a brave person!
But I think it is her cos to a marchionesses daughter anything is possible (no expense spared if Gamages were making uniforms for kids!)
