I have a vintage French black and white postcard with the caption 'Beurre - La Passage du Bac'.

Anyone got any ideas as to where in France this is? Google seems just to have page apon page of references to the butter and recipes with the same. Presumably there is a place called Beurre?

    Thanks for any help.

Bing gives three places called Beurre in France. I need more information or better a scan from both sides.

    Beurre, Landes, Aquitanië, Frankrijk

    2

    Beurre, Loire, Rhône-Alpes, Frankrijk

    3

Beurre, Sarthe, Pays de la Loire, Frankrijk

:applause: The place is BOURRÉ, not far from Montrichard as mentioned in the right under corner. Departement Loir-et-Cher. The river on the front must be Le Cher.

A Bac is a little vessel (maybe a ferry)

Hopes this will help you.
