Need a Translation - Danish to English

Hello Delcampe Community. I found these two cards of a staircase of what I believe is my hometown in Poughkeepsie NY. The cards are sent to Denmark so I assume the message is written in Danish. I hope the can give a clue as to where this well made staircase was constructed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, the text makes no mention of the location or who the two men in the picture are. But I think it says "We have waited with writing so you could get this card", presumably the receiver would know.
