    It seams to be a montain area : Wales ?

    Pettitt was a very local photographer so the picture is almost certainly somewhere in the English lake District, definitely not Wales

    I'm not certain of the village shown, as many Lakeland villages look like this, and I have yet to find a reference to the picture number in the corner

    Yhe number in the corner of the postcard is 486 .
    I was surprise by the quality of the picture and the printing . Wich date ?

    Pettitt was active from the early 1900s and through the 1920s but I don't know when he stopped producing

    The camera used was probably a plate or half-plate camera with glass negatives - very slow, long exposure giving really good quality images, and of course the size of the plate means that postcards are practically contact-size prints rather than enlargements
