    Hi,
I've got this funny 'real photo' postcard, sent from Vietnam to France in 1951. The front features the Liên Phái pagoda in Hanoi, with a man posing in front of it - apparently waiting for the photographer to take a picture of him and the pagoda. On the reverse, there are just a few lines printed (i.e. not drawn with a pencil). No indication of publisher or any printed text at all. This combination leads me to think that the photo was intentionally developed on special photo paper intended for private production of postcards! Note that this postcard was sent through military postal services during a time of war. Does anyone know if such private production of postcards was ever (back then) organized and carried out on a routine basis, or if this is an isolated instance? Thank you.
