    Dear Stefano and Aapshop,

You're right. We are not yet known enoug in US. The fact is that we should do great things with small budgets (we never raised funds and are still 100% independant). That is a strength and a weakness.

In our growth, we try to detect which matters and countries seem to grow in a good way.

Recently, a big Italian site ( Link (http) has closed his doors... and our Italian site is now really going high. We feel too that the american and english postcards collectors begin to become "delcampe-fans" too... and that's why Pascal concentrate a lot on them (you may notice he is working with you to make the site progress)... and Christine has received my instructions to have higher priority in adding US & GB postcards than other countries presently.

We work on Search Engine Optimization too. Though this should be done for 6 languages and 8 Delcampe subsites (philately, postcards, ...) in the same time. My whole team is now focused on selecting the right ways to reach top places. I have learned a lot in SEO during last years and I am pretty sure we will get good results before begin 2007. This is a long process.

If you have advice about good magazines, newspapers, websites, ... we should advertise on. Do not hesitate, speak about it on this forum or at pascal@delcampe.com . I gave him some budget to place adds.

But do not forget that the greatest strength of our site is our members ! We need to be supported by many sellers and buyers in ie postcards to become good in this branch. That's what we did in Belgium and France when we begun. We need your help, presence and support. Put up many cards on sale ! No insertion fee ;)

    Best regards, Sebastien Delcampe

    Dear Stefano,

You're pointing: "The present policy of letting other people do the advertising and then re-embursing them, while innovative; simply leads to an "off" & "on" feel to USA buyer sales.(we run monthly print ads for our Delcampe site)"

I have difficulties to know why so few sellers use this possibility. It would interest me to know why. Can you help me with some thoughts ?

    Thanks, Seb Delcampe

    Hi, all!

Glad to report I've gotten into selling here and after 9 days have 5 sales (out of c.20 listings that have ended so far. No, I'm not 'big-time' yet, nor do I do this for a living!) Sales to Spain and the US (bids from Israel and the UK, too;) the US buyers weren't buying US views but rather US cards from topics--artist, holiday and railroad. While they have US addresses, I'm not sure they're both in the US though.

This is a great site and I'll soon get more US views up for sale, too.

I have sold a couple of Canadian town views to Canadian buyers.

Again, I'm approaching this as putting up quality cards--in a range of prices--and waiting for the buyers to come to me (and all of us at Delcampe!)

For those interested: 8 buyers from UK; 10 US(inc. Puerto Rico); 3 Canadians. This is out of c.45 buyers. (Other countries include France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland--nice mix, eh?
