intrigued by these, hoping to find something written on them (even in French!)but can's see any in various indexes, bibliographies, although I only speak English I have dictionaries and there's the web! thanks

What exactly are you looking for? A list of the different 'types' of 'fortunes', a list of the places using them, indications of value, period of use, or other information?

Hello
There is a book "Oblitérations Belges 1918-1919" by Jacques Rousseau , edited by Société Philatélique Belge , 17 Rue de Stassart , 5000 Namur .
It is also available in Dutch language .
Maybe you can find it on the delcampe site .
