    The short answer is no.

    The same applies vice versa as UK stamps cannot be used in the Channel Islands or IOM.

    The wholesale prices for Channel Islands and IOM postage is very low - about 40% face value as there are huge quantities washing around due to heavy over exploitation of these stamps for so called 'investment' purposes.

    One of the reasons why the modern issues mint/unmounted mint do not sell well at auction.

    If the postie would have noticed you would certainly have been stung but for a lot more than the 18p! There would have been a handling/processing charge plus VAT.

    If this does happen the best thing to do is refuse delivery and let the sender pay for his mistakes:)
